Disney Construction Update: The Star Wars: Galactic Star Cruiser is Getting Off The Ground!

Leave Hollywood Studios, and take the exit toward the Magic Kingdom and Epcot, and you’ll catch a glimpse of the next big Star Wars adventure to arrive at Walt Disney World!

TA DA!

It doesn’t look like much yet, but this humble building is the future home of the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, a.k.a. the most immersive Star Wars experience ever built!

When the new resort is done, it’ll look something like this:

For now, though, things still look like your average building.

No theming here, folks.

Though we have begun to see signs of infrastructure.

Believe it or not, that’s a terminal for a shuttle to Batuu!

That metal archway looks like it could potentially house the buses that transport guests to and from Galaxy’s Edge. Both the busses and loading area will be heavily themed to create the illusion you’re actually taking a shuttle from orbit!

The main entrance also looks to be taking shape. It already has that iconic profile, and we expect there’ll be a bit of magic to for it to maintain the illusion of space travel when the hotel opens next year!

The entrance has to handle check in, while also serving as a preshow for the experience.

We’ll have more information on the Galactic Starcruiser as it approaches its grand opening next year!
