We’re just a few days away from Disney World resorts’ re-opening on June 22nd.
While the parks are set to reopen on July 11th and July 15th, Disney Vacation Club Resorts and Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground will be greeting guests first.
However, the Orlando Hotel and Restaurant Workers Movement Local 737 Union has provided a list of multiple members of the union that have been called back to work and new openings in Disney World. And, one of those places happens to be Disney’s Pop Century Resort, which hasn’t been officially announced as a hotel that would be reopening soon.
While Disney has been sending out emails to guests with reservations at resorts that haven’t been scheduled to reopen, the Local 737 announcement states that the Cast Members are set to return as June 28th and July 5th.
The full list of Pop Century locations listed in their announcement were:
- Culinary & Stewarding
- Everything Pop
- Food Handlers
- Petals Pool Bar
It is important to note that the list had a few errors and inaccuracies, such as citing that employees would be called back to several restaurants that are no longer in operation at Disney World. Disney also hasn’t officially announced that Pop Century would be opening any time soon. Due to these things, we want to note that this may NOT be a definite situation, and
Disney has stated that resorts would be experiencing modifications and changes in amenities, cleaning services, dining, and transportation. When Disney makes an official announcement regarding re-opening locations in the parks, we will let you know all the details!

With All of the Strict Restrictions in place, No Park Hopping Passes, they certainly haven’t balanced out the cost of any of the tickets. They are still just as expensive as before Covid 19 took affect. Shame on them.
I have reservations for Pop Century the end of August so here’s hoping this announcement is true! Crossing my fingers that we get to keep our current reservations! Also looking forward to the new take on the Food & Wine Festival. The world is in such a mess right now but am ready to get back to Disney!
Thanks for all of the great work you do with this site! Keep up the good work & thanks for all you do!
