NEWS: Rise of the Resistance is Unexpectedly Closed Today in Disney World

If you’ve ever visited Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney World or Disneyland, then you likely know what a big deal Rise of the Resistance is.

It’s currently the most popular ride in the parks, and the only way to ride it is to secure a virtual boarding pass. We have tons of tips on how to secure that boarding group, but unfortunately, they won’t do you much good if you’re visiting today because the ride is unavailable!

We noticed earlier today that Rise of the Resistance in Disney World had not been boarding any groups. The Virtual Queue page on the My Disney Experience app was stuck on “Not Boarding” even though many guests had logged on and were assigned groups this morning. Then, after the 1PM drop, we got this message in the app:

According to Disney, the ride will not be operating at all today in Hollywood Studios. The pop-up message encourages guests to visit other attractions in Galaxy’s Edge.

We’ll make sure to keep you updated if we get any more information on this ride closure, so stay tuned. Rise of the Resistance is known for having technical difficulties, so keep that in mind when you’re planning your trip!
