Today we got a bunch of information about what Halloween is going to look like at Disney World!

As part of the celebrations, the After Hours BOO Bash will be replacing Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party this year. There will be special cavalcades, trick-or-treating, and the option to wear costumes! But, there’s another important thing to note: face masks will be required.
As part of the BOO Bash announcements, Disney specifically noted that face coverings would be required for all guests ages 2 and up during this event. With temperature checks disappearing and more Americans getting vaccinated, some people wondered if the mask requirements would start to go away, but it looks like this is one rule that will be sticking around for at least a few more months.

Disney CEO Bob Chapek previously noted that he expects some level of mask-wearing in the Disney World parks for the rest of 2021, so this shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise. Disney World recently relaxed face mask guidelines to allow guests to remove face coverings for stationary, physically distanced outdoor photos, but they’re still required indoors and at all other times in public areas unless eating and drinking while stationary.

The BOO Bash event runs through October 31st, so we know that this rule will likely still be in place until then. Even though it only specifically mentions masks during the event, the BOO Bash will have a much smaller capacity than during the daytime at the parks, so it makes sense to infer that masks will be a requirement in the daytime as well.
