Just how long will health and safety measures from the pandemic be in place at Disney World?

Some Disney Parks reopened in 2020 under new health and safety restrictions and capacity limits. Each park that has opened instated mask mandates, distancing requirements, and modified attractions by adding plexiglass to ensure that guests can safely enjoy their ride. But how long until Disney returns to “normal?”
In the Q1 Earnings Call, Walt Disney Company CEO, Bob Chapek, addressed the question and said that they expect to “have some level of mask wearing and social distancing through the end of this year” at the Disney parks.

The promise for a return to normal relies heavily on access to the COVID-19 vaccine. Chapek acknowledged that Dr. Fauci hopes that the U.S. will have vaccines available to the general public by April, which would be a game-changer for the current health and safety conditions in the parks.

Dr. Fauci himself provided clarification on Good Morning America when it comes to what he describes as “open season” when more of the general public can get the vaccine starting in April. Fauci said that once you get past priority groups, “you can essentially say, ‘anybody who’s anybody can just get vaccinated’…no matter who you are, you can get a vaccine.” Fauci said he expects to see a “great surge” in the number of people getting the vaccine a we move into the months of April, May, and June. Hopefully by July, according to Dr. Fauci, we’ll be at a point where we have enough of the vaccine for virtually everyone.

Over at Disneyland, the closed park has been transformed into a vaccination site and has vaccinated over 100,000 people. But, it is likely that mask mandates and social distancing will be sticking around at reopened Disney parks through the end of the year.

Will you be visiting a Disney park in 2021? Let us know in the comments!
Bummer. Not going back until no masks, fastpass, and shows. Killing us but won’t pay full price for a partial experience.
We are going in November. Hoping there is a new mandate. Maybe only masks for certain events (like fantasmic, which is hopefully reopened) and maybe even indoors but I’d like to be able to walk around the park without the mask on constantly. I am not within 6′ of anyone who isn’t in my family!
Have visited the parks from TN for times in the past year. Three of those being with mask mandates (twice right after reopen bc it was empty and too hard to resist) and last Trip this past weekend. We currently have a week long trip plannt for Nov but my entire family refuses to go back with mask mandates. So looks like no Nov trip for us 🙁
Too bad not going this year!
Mask for indoors , is an absurd to recquired it in parks and open spaces
