Disney World is home to four theme parks, all filled with different rides and attractions.

Now, all Disney World attractions are not created equal, and that is totally okay. It is good to have a balance of rides and attractions for everyone, but if you find yourself “allergic to fun” and you are visiting Disney World, then we would recommend skipping these five rides. We mean, why would you want to have fun and enjoy yourself at Disney World? 😉
Just because a ride might be considered popular, it may not be the most fun ride, and hey, we are not trying to throw shade here; we are just trying to help those who want to avoid fun rides!

Alien Swirling Saucers
Alien Swirling Saucers opened at Hollywood Studios in 2018 as part of Toy Story Land. Now, this ride has different versions all across the world, including a Tow Mater and Baymax version.

Alien Swirling Saucers may not be the most popular ride in Toy Story Land, but it will have you giggling as you get whipped and swirled around to different songs from the Toy Story films. You are 100% going to want to avoid this ride if you don’t want to crack a smile or laugh.

Slinky Dog Dash
Arguably, one of the most popular rides in Toy Story Land is Slinky Dog Dash, and oftentimes, it boasts a long line. We have some good news for those who are allergic to fun; if you skip this ride, you could potentially save yourself some time waiting in line because why would anyone want to dash around Andy’s backyard and go through two different launches all while riding in a Slinky Dog themed coaster?

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind
In EPCOT, Ellen’s Energy Adventure was replaced with a Guardians of the Galaxy-themed omni-coaster. This attraction is so popular that it holds the record for having a Virtual Queue the longest since the attraction opened in 2022.

Now, if you don’t want to jam out with the Guardians and be surprised by which song you will get, don’t want to go to space, and do not want to ride a state-of-the-art ride that uses innovative technology, then you are going to want to sit this one out! Besides, this means you do not have to worry about waking up to grab a Virtual Queue at 7 AM or be in the park to try again at 1 PM.

Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway
We know that the loss of The Great Movie Ride hit hard when it closed in Hollywood Studios in 2017. The attraction re-opened as Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway in 2020 as a trackless ride, and it was the first ride based on Disney’s most well-known characters.

We also miss The Great Movie Ride, but Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway is cute and a fun way to go through the cartoon world of Mickey and the gang. So, if you do not want to be amazed by the larger-than-life sets, dance with Daisy, or go down a waterfall, then by all means, avoid this attraction!

Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin
While Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin is not in Toy Story Land, you can find it in Magic Kingdom’s Tomorrowland.

This attraction is a shooting target-style attraction where Buzz calls all Space Rangers to help take down the evil emperor Zurg! So, if you do not want to try to become a Galactic Hero, spin your vehicle, or help Buzz take down Zurg, then do not bother riding this attraction!
3 Secret Strategies That Will Help You Become a Galactic Hero in Magic Kingdom

Well, there you have it; if you find yourself suffering from being allergic to fun, you will want to avoid riding these five attractions the next time you visit Disney World.

Alien Swirling Saucers is surprisingly fun but has really started to hurt my body. Yes, I’m old but find myself opting to sit this one out more often than not as of late even if it’s a short wait. (OK, I didn’t mean to rhyme…but there you go.) 😄
