Opening DATE Revealed for Disney's NEW Shiki-Sai Restaurant in EPCOT

We’re sure we’re not the only ones looking forward to the park’s new restaurant in the Japan Pavilion. We got an opening timeline recently, but now we have the opening date.

Disney has announced that Shiki-Sai: Sushi Izakaya, the new restaurant, will be opening on August 30th, 2023!

This restaurant will replace Tokyo Dining in the Mitsukoshi Dining area. It’ll be a table service restaurant that, according to Disney, will be a “festive dining experience in a sharable Izakaya style.”

The whole idea behind the restaurant is that it’s meant to give you the chance to “experience the essence of Japan’s seasonal festivals.” In fact, Shiki-Sai literally means “festival of the four seasons.”

Disney has shared that each month will actually bring a NEW celebration to your table here. So you may experience totally unique things in July that you couldn’t have seen here in January.

Some options from the sushi bar will include:

Kobore Sushi — “negi toro and nakaochi tuna elegantly paired with salmon roe and green onion”
Tokyo Negi Roll — “green onion tempura rolled with tuna tataki and topped with jalapeno aïoli, shredded carrot, and sliced jalapeno”
Funamori — “sashimi and sushi arranged on a boat-shaped platter”

UPDATE: On August 11th, Disney removed the opening date from the Shiki-Sai: Sushi Izakaya website. A Cast Member confirmed that the opening date is still set for August 30th, 2023. We will continue to look for updates.

It doesn’t appear that reservations are available just yet, but once they are available, we’ll let you know! We’ll be looking forward to checking this new restaurant out soon, but be sure to stay tuned to AllEars for all the latest news!
