A lot of really exciting things are happening at EPCOT. The whole park has been getting a massive update. Spaceship Earth got new lighting, a Guardians of the Galaxy attraction has opened, a new Moana-themed attraction is coming soon, and more.

But perhaps the most exciting addition to EPCOT is a new restaurant that will be opening soon. The restaurant is Shiki-Sai: Sushi Izakaya and you’ll soon be able to find it in the Japan Pavilion. Disney World has released a LOT of details about the new dining spot, so here’s everything we know.
Theme
Shiki-Sai: Sushi Izakaya will be a new table-service restaurant with a “festive dining experience in a sharable Izakaya-style.” In Japan, an Izakaya is a casual drinking establishment where you can order a variety of small dishes and drinks to hang out with friends. It’s a very common type of space where many go to meet up with friends or wind down after work.

The restaurant’s design will embrace Japan’s festivals or highlight Japan’s natural wonders, including lanterns and artwork. You’ll also find a “magnificent trellis inspired by the roof of the Phoenix Hall in Kyoto that will mesmerize your eyes while the food captivates your taste buds. ”
Menu
The menu for Shiki-Sai: Sushi Izakaya when it opens will include a sushi bar with items like Kobore Sushi (with negi toro, nakaochi tuna, salmon roe, and green onion), Tokyo Negi Roll (green onion tempura rolled with tuna tataki and topped with jalapeno aioli, shredded carrot, and sliced jalapeno), Funamori (sashimi and sushi arranged on a boat-shaped plate), and The Monster Roll.

The menu will have samplings of Japanese Izakaya, too, with a variety of sharable dishes, like Karaage Chicken, Salmon Misoyaki, and Tomato Salad with Avocado. There will also be grilled offerings like Okonomiyaki, a savory Japanese pancake filled with shredded cabbage and bacon, topped with okonomiyaki sauce, mayonnaise, aonori, bonito flakes, and pickled ginger.

However, what might be most exciting about the menu is that it will be based on Japan’s festivals, so it will change seasonally where “each month brings a new celebration to your table” that could include “hanging Tanabata in July to savoring moon-viewing dumplings in September.”
Also, a cultural representative from Japan will guide diners through each “festival experience.”
Where It’s Located
Shiki-Sai: Sushi Izakaya will be located on the second floor of Mitsukoshi in the Japan Pavilion.

This is where Tokyo Dining has been — that restaurant has been closed for a while. Tokyo Dining was set to reopen this summer, meaning it’s possible this new restaurant is taking its place. Disney has confirmed this just yet.
When Will it Open?
Shiki-Sai: Sushi Izakaya will open sometime this summer.

Disney World has not announced an official opening date or when reservations might become available.
