Typhoon Lagoon Water Park to Close Ahead of Tropical Storm Nicole

UPDATE: Nicole has now been upgraded to Tropical Storm Nicole as of 10AM on November 8th.

Subtropical Storm Nicole is expected to impact Florida later this week.

Ahead of the storm’s arrival, a tropical storm watch was issued for Orange and Osceola Counties, where Disney World is located. Due to this watch, Disney has announced several closures and cancelations at the parks and resorts.

Today, Disney World updated its website to share they would be closely monitoring its progress and would be ready to make necessary adjustments.

Now, they have announced that Typhoon Lagoon Water ParkWinter Summerland Mini GolfFantasia Gardens, and Fantasia Gardens will all be temporarily closed due to the impending storm.

These closures follow the previously announced closures of several resort areas. These include the Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground, Copper Creek Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, Treehouse Villas at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort, and the Bungalows at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. These will all be closed tomorrow, November 9th, through Friday, November 11th.

Typhoon Lagoon was already set to close for the season on November 13th, with a planned opening for Blizzard Beach on that same day.
