Soon after the storm was announced, a tropical storm watch was issued for Orange and Osceola Counties, where Disney World is located. Now, Nicole has officially been upgraded.

The National Hurricane Center has reported that Nicole is now Tropical Storm Nicole.  Ahead of its arrival, several eastern coastal counties have been placed under a hurricane watch, while much of central Florida is still under a tropical storm watch.

Due to the impending weather, Disney World has announced a few closures and cancelations. Currently, the four main theme parks will still be operating as normal. However, a few resort areas and other experiences will be closed.

These include the Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground, Copper Creek Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, Treehouse Villas at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort, and the Bungalows at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. These will all be closed tomorrow, November 9th, through Friday, November 11th.
