On June 22nd, Disney World’s Disney Vacation Club Resort hotels, along with Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campgrounds, will begin reopening.

Currently, the rest of the Disney World Resort hotels do not have a reopening date. Today, guests with Disney World Resort reservations at hotels that do not have a reopening date have begun receiving notifications.

Guests staying at hotels that will not be reopening during their booked dates have begun receiving emails outlining their options for modifying, keeping, or cancelling their reservation.

The email outlines options for next steps. These include noting that you are still planning on coming, that you are planning on modifying, and and that you are planning on cancelling your reservation.

In this case, our reservation was for July 1st at a non-DVC Resort hotel, meaning to modify, we would need to change to a DVC Resort or Fort Wilderness.

The email also gave an overview of the changes to the Disney World Resort experience that can be expected when they reopen. These include changes to dining, transportation, housekeeping, amenities, and more.

  1. Our reservations are August 6th so no email yet. Like everyone, we have no clue what to do and Disney seems to have no info.

  2. We had reservations the first week in July at a hotel which will not open. After receiving the e-mail, I decided to call them instead because the e-mail left me with more questions than answers.

The Disney employee was very nice, but I was put on hold a lot whenever I asked a question. I did end up cancelling. My only advice to Disney-please do not take reservations unless you know you will be open.

  3. Had reservation for July 3rd to 5th at Port Orleans Riverside. Got email that it was affected and that Disney would contact me for modification. Called them instead at number on bottom of email reply. After a couple of transfers, and being on hold at length, we are now rebooked into Saratoga Springs. The Disney customer service reps were as friendly and helpful as always. We don’t mind that the parks will not be open. We are just 2 South Florida Disney fanatics that need a relaxing holiday weekend. The close proximity to Disney Springs will be a huge bonus.

  4. Our reservation for July 4 at Yacht and Beach Club was affected. I tried to modify but the website directed you to call. I tried to find out whom to call but no information appeared to be present. It felt like the only option was to cancel the reservation so unfortunately that’s what I did. I wish I could have gotten more help from someone at Disney.

  5. Only DVC and Ft.Wilderness available. Well my cancelled reservation was not of consequence, I can simply rebook at a later date when priorities change. Are Club 33 diners still welcome ? Was to be a guest of a member, but I had to break the bad news to the family.

They said they understood our plight, of not guessing the proper resort that may open.

What an embarrassment to our family. Appreciate the “MAGIC” that went into that humiliation. ♥️♥️
