This is a great resort. It is small, so no matter which building you are in, getting to the food court, main pool, and bus stop is pretty convenient. Food court is very good and the resort provides water taxi transportation to Disney Springs, so that is a plus for a moderate resort price.

Pros:

Small resort which makes it easy to get to the food court, main pool, bus stop, and boat taxi.

Cons:

I guess the only con I can come up with is they only have one bus stop for the resort, but we found it to be more than adequate for us to get to and from the parks and our wait was never more than 20 minutes.

We have been coming to Orlando for the last ten years from the UK. We stopped off site for the first few years but since then have stopped on property which we absolutely love. This was our first stay in a moderate our previous vacations being at Old Key West and Saratoga Springs. We had heard some great things about French Quarter and we were not disappointed. Such a compact but homely resort with great New Orleans theming throughout. We had a pool view room which was perfect for myself and my husband. We used the buses as we did not hire a car and on the whole it was fine if very busy at times with just the two bus stops. Buses did occasionally go into riverside but mainly on an evening. The quick service restaurant is really good with all sorts of delicious things on offer including their famous beignets. The pool is fabulous and the area is very relaxing. The washing machines are numerous and although you have to pay for them (which you don't at Old Key West and Saratoga Springs) it is easy to pay by debit card. The boat to disney springs is a real bonus and we really enjoyed using it on many occasions. We enjoyed our holiday so much we are staying there again in a couple of weeks' time and would highly recommend it to anyone on a budget that doesn't want to splash out on the deluxe resorts but wants something a bit more than the value resorts

Pros:

Quick service restaurant, compact site, water taxi

Cons:

A coworker moved to Orlando so Labor day weekend me and two of her former co-workers headed to Disney world to visit. POFQ was the perfect place! The hotel was beautiful, we stayed in building 2 Riverview and it was close to everything! We we're steps away from the pool a short walk to the restaurant and store and the boat to Disney Springs was right outside our door! POFQ has an indoor bar and there was a live band one of the nights we were there. The pool was warm yet refreshing with plenty of loungers and towels. The food was good with a lot of different selections. This was the first time I've used the barcoded soda cup and you can refill it! ( Twice I think) We had a great long weekend with lots of laughs!

Pros:

Close to Disney Springs

Cons:

No sit down restaurant

I think the lizards were sneaking into the arcade to play Frogger!! It was such an exciting experience walking around POFQ and seeing all the lizards dashing around! They definitely rule the roost. Then the black snake on our path on departure was classic. We are military and my husband (he's still active 26+ years) and I were together (in the army) in the Mojave Desert 23 years ago on a training mission when he came upon a rattle snake and stopped dead in his tracks...same here....we had to re-route...Now, for my review...WE LOVE POFQ!! We are already planning our next vacation with our daughter and her twins. Our room was not large, but very comfortable. Bed was awesome, love the new wood flooring, Large tv, and the best thing, we had a bit of pixie dust sprinkled...we had a garden room booked, and we got the end room, building 1, room 1233, two windows, so we got a garden view AND a river view! Cast Members were fabulous, Nate the Bartender was awesome, he always remembered us (well we were there 11 days), Myong, I believe her name is, we met her in the Laundry room, she was so fun to talk to and helped keep the very clean, well maintained facility tip top. Please forward those two a Disney thank you for wonderful service. I also want to praise the bartenders at the pool bar, unfortunately I do not recall their names, but, nonetheless, they were great! Fabulous drinks! MouseKeeping was great, always a fresh room to come back to. The ladies in the gift shop were always wonderful and pleasant. The Door Man opened the front doors with a swoop of his hand. LOL
We had a fantastic stay, cannot wait to bring our grand-daughters back with us and play in the kiddy water park. Our only negative was the food in the food court. The Beignets were very good, however the other fare was not so good. We are from California, so maybe southern food isn't for us, but the eggs were the liquid ones, biscuits were too dense and the gravy, tasteless. Bacon and sausage were ok. Whole wheat Croissants are kind of an oxymoron. Too tough. No HARD BOILED EGGS!?!? Strange. Overall, we had a wonderful 11 days at POFQ and as I said, cannot wait to return!

Pros:

smaller resort

Cons:

food

Stayed the end on January. Stayed in a garden view room in building 4 which is near the food court and bus stop. the room was clean and quiet. The food court had a good variety of food. Most food stations opened at 7 but the bakery opened earlier. I liked walking along the river and being able to take a boat to Disney Springs. I also liked being able to walk to Riverside next door. It was nice seeing the carriage rides come though the resort. The bus service was good. The buses ran every 20 minutes . One morning not everyone got on the bus to MK the next one was coming in 15 min. The buses went straight to the parks.

Pros:

theme, river, boat ride to Disney Springs

Cons:

none

My husband and I stayed at POFQ for the first time from 2/27/18 to 3/3/18. We usually stay at POR, but wanted to try a smaller resort due to our mobility issues.
When we arrived, the front desk CM was very helpful and friendly. We found that all the CM's at FQ were friendly.
We got a newly refurbished room in bldg. 2 and it was very nice. Loved the laminate flooring, new bigger tv, pedestal beds, everything about it. There were nice subtle French quarter touches but nothing garish. I didn't think I would like the refurbs, but it was beautiful.
The food court is small but has a wide range of selections and there were plenty of places to sit and eat. We preferred eating outside at a table.
The bus stop was fine. Early in the AM it is crowded, as is expected. Our longest wait was 20 minutes, most were 10 min.
We loved the ambience of fFQ from the cobblestone "streets" to the courtyards and fountains. We have found our new home at WDW and will be back.

Pros:

Beautiful grounds, compact resort

Cons:

none

Before I start, let me say POFQ is far and away our favourite resort. This is our 3rd stay and we wouldn't stay anywhere else now BUT...
Our room absolutley stank of sweaty feet-and not ours! It was noticeable from the moment we opened the door on arrival and was still noticeable 2 weeks later when we left. I understand the planned refurb is doing away with carpets and this must be the reason why!
The beds both sagged-one had a definite slant to the left and one to the right! It rteally felt like the springs had gone.
Bus service was erratic. Why on earth POFQ has to share AK buses at all times of the day with POR is anyone's guess. One day we left our room at 5pm for a fastpass at AK which expired at 6.10. No bus arrived until 5.30 and it then took nearly 20 minutes to go round POR, so we did not even arrive at AK until 6.05. Needless to say we missed our Fastpass (didn't help that the CMs had roped off the pathway to EE for ROL standby!) Even at park closing the AK bus was picking up for both resorts, so you had a packed bus, only half of whom were getting off at FQ, trying to climb over people standing on the bus-very poor. (AK was the only park that ever seemd to share a bus but it was ALL the time!)
We were offered cash if we turned down Mousekeeping but I like having someone else make my bed for me so we refused-plus it keeps jobs open for them. Mousekeeping did a good job and common areas of the resort-food court, pool, etc was alway clean.
I feel guilty moaning about POFQ but the rooms are looking tired currently

Pros:

Small

Cons:

Food court, buses

First time stay at POR- FQ - Week of 11/13 - 11/18 2017
We loved this place. We have stayed at several other Disney Resorts over the many years that we have been going to WDW. The compact size of POR - FQ made it easy to get to all this resort has to offer. The pool area was fun and my granddaughter (12) was very impressed. The food court can get very busy at times but for the most part was manageable. Never waited more than 10 min for any bus or boat. Every cast member we met was friendly, helpful and very easy to talk to.
Housekeeping was very poor. Our room was never really cleaned up to the standards we have come to expect from Disney. Items like tissues and toiletries were not replenished.

Pros:

Size,Pool,Food Court, Transportation, and Cast Members

Cons:

House Keeping
