How to Join the Exclusive Virtual Queue in Disney World Today

Happy May the 4th to all who celebrate! We hope this Star Wars Day brings you all the magic and fun the galaxy has available.

Today’s about to be a VERY busy day in Disney’s Hollywood Studios in honor of this special day, and Disney has taken a few precautions to prepare. One of those ways of preparing has been creating a Virtual Queue for the new merchandise available in the park. If you haven’t already joined, here’s how you can check if there’s still space left and join!

There are actually TWO different Virtual Queues happening in Disney World for today. One is located in Disney Springs, where you’ll be able to shop for Star Wars merchandise at Once Upon A Toy, while the other is the Star Wars merchandise available in Hollywood Studios at the exit to Vacation Fun.

You’ll want to scroll down on the main page of your My Disney Experience App to find the Virtual Queues. When you click on “Join Virtual Queue,” you’ll be brought to where you can see both queues. You do have to be located near Disney Springs to join that queue, and for Hollywood Studios, you have to have a park pass for the park and/or a valid ticket. Both of them opened right at 7 AM, and we were ON IT, because these can go fast!

We’re very glad we did, because as of right now, the Hollywood Studios queue is closed to anyone who doesn’t already have a group assigned to them. There does still seem to be availability in the Disney Springs queue, but it’s possible that it may not last long.

When we hopped on, we were able to join the queue and were put in group 66.

This was just as nerve-wracking as it used to be for Rise of the Resistance, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, and other rides that used to have Virtual Queues, so we’re glad they’re not common practice in the parks anymore (for now).
