BOTH Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge Rides Are Closed in Disney World

If you’re heading to Disney World, you might want to prepare for the unexpected!

Things like bad weather or illness can definitely put a damper on your day in the parks, but perhaps the most common issue that you’ll face is an unexpected ride closure. And if you’re a Star Wars fan heading to Hollywood Studios today, you might have a problem.

This morning, we noticed that both Rise of the Resistance and Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run were closed in Hollywood Studios! Shortly before 11AM, both rides were listed as unavailable in the My Disney Experience app.

Not only is this a problem if you’re looking to visit those rides, but it’s also an issue for the other wait times in the park. Because two major rides were closed, the wait times for other attractions were much higher than usual. We’re talking 2+ hours for Tower of Terror, an hour and a half for Slinky Dog Dash, and 80+ minute waits for Toy Story Mania, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, and Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway. WOW.

We’ll monitor the situation and keep you updated if anything changes or we get more details on the closure. Here’s to hoping that the rides come back up and guests can have a somewhat normal day in the park!

UPDATE: As of 11:45AM, both of these rides are back up and running.
