Each Disney World theme park is home to its super-popular attractions.

Since many people want to get a chance to ride these rides, they tend to have long waits throughout the day. Recently, EPCOT wrapped up its transformation, which brought new rides like Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. And just a few years prior to the start of the EPCOT Transformation, Frozen Ever After debuted, and almost a decade later, it can still have a wait of more than an hour. So when is the best time to ride EPCOT’s most popular attractions? We are so glad you asked!
Currently, there are no Virtual Queues offered at Disney World, meaning if you want to ride an attraction, you can wait in a stand-by line or purchase a Lightning Lane Multi, Single, or Premier Pass to skip the line.
Time is money at Disney World, and if you are looking to squeeze as much as you can into your day, including riding Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, and Frozen Ever After, you should consider getting in line for these attractions at the following times.

Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure
Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure opened in EPCOT’s France Pavilion in 2021 during Disney World’s 50th-anniversary celebration. The ride used Virtual Queue for only a few months, yet the ride is still extremely popular.

If you are staying at an EPCOT Area Resort or a Skyliner Resort, you have the advantage of entering through EPCOT’s back entrance, International Gateway. International Gateway is snuggled between the France and United Kingdom Pavilions, giving you an advantage to rope drop Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure compared to those entering at the front of the park near Spaceship Earth.

If you are entering from the front entrance, we would suggest prioritizing a different attraction instead of trying to get to the back of the World Showcase. In our experience, we have noticed wait times for Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure drop around 3 PM, which may be due to the “Disney Crash.” Some people get tired in the heat of the day, especially if they rope dropped, and they head back to their hotel room for a mid-day nap or pool day.

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind currently holds the record for the longest use of Virtual Queue. Fans were both excited and nervous when Virtual Queue disappeared from Disney World earlier this year. When this change initially took place, we saw wait times fluctuate for the attraction, but now it seems like the kinks have all been worked out.

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is open during Early Entry, which means if you want to knock out this attraction first thing in the morning, you should plan on rope dropping at the front entrance of EPCOT.

On average, the best time to ride if you don’t have Early Entry is between 7:00 PM and 9:00 PM, when the average wait time is about 62 minutes. By this time, many guests have already ridden Cosmic Rewind or left EPCOT altogether. While the line is still long, you may not have to wait as long as you would earlier in the day when EPCOT is more crowded.

Our biggest tip is that if you want to ride Cosmic Rewind over and over again, you may want to consider purchasing a ticket to EPCOT’s After Hours or participate in Extended Evening Hours as the wait time for Cosmic Rewind drops significantly due to limited park attendance.

Frozen Ever After
Frozen Ever After is located in EPCOT’s Norway Pavilion and replaced the attraction Maelstrom. Since 2016, it has been home to Anna, Elsa, and all their friends.

If you are an early riser, it can be a good idea to head into the World Showcase from EPCOT’s front entrance during Early Entry or during rope drop. Frozen Ever After tends to have a shorter wait if you ride it first thing in the morning. You may also have an advantage by going deeper in the park compared to those who may choose to rope drop Cosmic Rewind, which is located closer to the front entrance.

It is also a good strategy to wait closer to EPCOT’s closure as people start to thin out for dining reservations or to watch Luminous. You will want to avoid this attraction in the late morning and early afternoon hours as waiting outside might not be so pleasant, and those who slept in or started in the front of the park begin to trickle into the World Showcase.

Overall
The following advice works for all attractions above and more! Remember to continuously check the My Disney Experience app throughout the day to monitor wait times. Genie (not to be confused with Genie+) is a free service through the app that can forecast wait times to help you plan out the best time to ride.

Secondly, you can get in line for an attraction a minute before the park closes. That means you can save a popular attraction that has a long wait for the end of the night. That way, you spend the majority of your wait after the park closes, giving you even more park time! Remember, you must be in line before the park closes, and you should not run or shove to get in line.
