The Unfortunate Bathroom Problem You’ll Run Into at Universal’s Epic Universe

We finally got a chance to step INSIDE Epic Universe for the first time, and let us tell you — we are IMPRESSED!

However, just like with all theme parks, not everything is perfect. We ran into little issues here and there, and although this was only Team Member, there’s one big issue we know will affect a lot of people in Super Nintendo World.  We’re sharing because it’s important you’re prepared ahead of time!

We were totally impressed by the scale, color, and just how detailed Super Nintendo World was. We loved the rides as well, however we ran into a problem after riding Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge.

When you come through the portal into the land, you’ll find escalators that take you up to the main part of the land. Off to the side is where you’ll head to experience the Donkey Kong Country area of the land, and as we found out the hard way, it’s also the ONLY place you’ll find bathrooms in this land.

Yes, you read that right, there are NO bathrooms on the second level of Super Nintendo World, which is where you’ll find both Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge and Yoshi’s Adventure. This means that the only ones you’ll find in the land are on the first floor, closer to the entrance to that Donkey Kong area, which for anyone who’s having a bathroom emergency, that’s not going to be the ideal situation.

If you’re concerned about finding where the closest bathrooms are on your trip, you can look ahead of time on the Universal Orlando app, because the Epic Universe app is live right now! This is a great way to give you peace of mind before your trip even begins. We think everyone should be familiar with it, but especially those who could have a situation where they need to find one ASAP.

  1. I’m just curious, were there any “FAMILY” BATHROOMS? We ran into this problem at Islands of Adventure. There is literally 2 family bathrooms in the entire park. It’s a FAMILY theme park and let me say it again…with 2 family bathrooms in the entire park!!! One of those being when you first enter the park. Literally at the front of the park, in an office that you have to be buzzed into. So after waiting for two hours to get on a ride, our handicap (in a wheelchair), also transgender kid, was literally crying trying to navigate through thousands of people all through a giant theme park to find a bathroom. It was not a good experience. They did say they will be upgrading at some point, but that epic was state of the art and would have many family bathrooms.
