Just a few days ago, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announced the closure of all bars and nightclubs. Additionally, Mayor Buddy Dyer called for the ban of on-site alcohol consumption throughout Orlando.

At the time, restaurants were instructed to reach 50% capacity maximum, but today, Florida restaurants have a new directive.

According to the Orlando Sentinel,  Governor DeSantis announced that restaurants are to close immediately, offering takeout or delivery only. He did include that alcohol could be picked up or delivered for the first time.

Additionally, DeSantis stated that all gyms and fitness centers statewide must close until the current State of Emergency is lifted.

Orange County (the county where the vast majority of Walt Disney World resides) has enacted a curfew. The curfew was announced by Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings, and will begin tonight. The nightly curfew begins at 11pm and runs to 5am until further notice. Exceptions will be made for those going to and from work, as well as first responders and medical professionals.

All of these new policies are precautions as we continue to try and “Flatten the Curve.”
