Disney World Files Permit for Country Bear Jamboree Retheme, NEW Little Mermaid Show, and MORE!

Chances are you’re never going to visit the same Disney World twice.

This is especially true right now when so much of the parks, hotels, and more are changing! No matter when you’re planning on visiting Disney World next, it’s important to stay up to date on the latest changes. But don’t worry, that’s where we come in!

We search permits recently filed by Disney around the parks and hotels to get an idea of what sort of projects might be coming up in Disney World!

Magic Kingdom

At the D23 event in 2023, Disney announced that they would be making some changes to the Country Bear Jamboree in Magic Kingdom. That means that Country Bear Jamboree will need to temporarily close starting January 27th, 2024.

And it looks like we’ve spotted one of the first permits Disney has filed to get started on these changes! An Imagineering permit was filed to “Install A/V equipment” at this attraction.

Unfortunately, the permit doesn’t get any more specific than that, but we do know that this retheme will include new Disney songs along with some reinterpreted ones. We’ll keep an eye out for more changes!

We also spotted a permit for construction at the Magic Kingdom First Aid location to “Provide labor, material, and/or electrical for construction.”

So far, we haven’t seen any signs of changes but we will let you know of more updates.

Hollywood Studios

At the end of last year, we learned that a brand new show would be replacing Voyage of the Little Mermaid in Hollywood Studios — and two new permits have been filed for this theater. The first one is to “Provide labor, material, and/or electrical for construction,” which is pretty standard.

The second permit is for “general construction,” which is also pretty basic and can really be for anything. We will likely start to see changes happening in this area soon, and we’ll share as soon as we do!

The Indiana Jones Theater may also be getting a refresh sometime soon according to a new permit we found. The description is to “Provide labor, material, and/or electrical for construction,” but we’ll keep an eye out for any major changes.
