Choosing a FastPass+ for an upcoming Disney World vacation can be both difficult and confusing.

For starters, it may be hard to understand what a FastPass is and why you need it on a trip. Or you may have a hard time trying to figure out an entire week’s worth of attractions 60 days before you even head to Walt Disney World. And we totally get it; that can be a lot to handle!
What is FastPass+?
For those of you who don’t know, FastPass+ is a free option offered to Walt Disney World guests. Visitors will have the opportunity to initially reserve three FastPasses per park per day. After guests have used their three pre-scheduled FastPasses, they can then book additional FastPasses on-the-fly throughout the day (see how we got 25Â FastPasses in ONE DAY here).

What’s important to remember is that the number of FastPasses released per attraction per day is limited, so big-name attractions like Space Mountain and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train often run out of FastPasses early on — often at the sixty-day booking window for Disney Resort hotel guests.

AllEars’ Picks for FastPasses at Magic Kingdom
Since guests are only able to snag three FastPasses per vacation day when planning their trip, we thought we’d share a few of the Magic Kingdom FastPasses we try to reserve first.
We typically like the grab FastPasses for attractions that tend to have long wait times and those that are in higher demand thus meaning that they likely won’t be available day-of.
The attractions that fit into this category for Magic Kingdom are Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Space Mountain, Peter Pan’s Flight, and sometimes Splash Mountain. These attractions tend to have longer wait times, and people really push to get these FastPasses as well, which means they will be harder to grab after using your initial three.

If you’re traveling with small children and don’t want Space Mountain or Splash Mountain, we recommend getting a FastPass for Jungle Cruise and/or Pirates of the Caribbean. These can also go quickly and can sometimes see fairly long wait times.

Overall, our typically Magic Kingdom go-to FastPasses are the ones that are going to be difficult to get, ultimately resulting in us having to wait in a long line if we don’t come prepared with scheduled FastPasses! Of course, if you do have to wait in line, you can see which ones we prefer here!Â
