PHOTOS: Epic Universe Expansion Taking Shape 8 Months After the Park’s Opening

There are some very interesting changes happening around Epic Universe right now.

Recent images shared of various stages of construction around Epic Universe show land clearing and preparation in multiple areas around the park, which are drawing attention to potential areas long rumored to be reserved for future expansion. Although details have not been revealed, Universal has confirmed the park WILL expand — and these new photos have a lot to say!

Universal’s Epic Universe has been open for less than a year, but theme park fans and aerial photography enthusiasts are already spotting what looks like the first signs of major expansion! Recently, @bioreconstruct has shared several photos and videos that appear to show site preparation and construction staging in multiple areas around the park, providing the first visible clues that Universal is already gearing up for future additions to the new theme park.

One of the most notable areas Bioreconstruct’s imagery shows is pre-work on a cleared expansion pad near Dark Universe and the front of the park, where land has been leveled and prepared, a step that typically precedes more extensive construction. This location is significant because it sits in a space that could logically connect future attractions with existing park worlds, possibly extending our experiences beyond the current footprint.

The photo below shows a construction staging area near Epic Universe. It’s unclear what the construction materials will be used for, but you can bet they’ll be put to good use soon.

In addition to that front-of-park site, other photos highlight cleared plots and staging areas near key existing worlds like Super Nintendo World and Celestial Park. These images show dirt work and what appears to be early groundwork, which could suggest that Universal is preparing for vertical construction or utility installation well ahead of any further official announcement.

While specific details about what might be built haven’t been confirmed, the presence of cleared land and visible prep work is notable. Back in December 2025, aerial photos posted by Bioreconstruct hinted at site prep between Other Worlds Mercantile and Super Nintendo World, which gave us one of the first clear signs that Epic Universe could soon see additions. In fact, permits and staged construction materials have been spotted in backstage areas behind existing worlds at Epic Universe in recent months, fueling speculation about future attractions and larger expansions in the years ahead. Just like this recent view of a potential fireworks launch pad sitting just beyond the parking garage for the nearby Helios Grand Hotel that borders the backside of Epic Universe.
