If there’s one thing theme park fans are always going to do, it’s share exactly what’s working and what’s absolutely not.
Epic Universe
Epic Universe is shiny, new, and wildly ambitious, but that doesn’t mean it’s immune to criticism. In fact, when something is brand new, fans tend to notice the pain points even faster. So, about that, we went straight to the source (you!). We asked you for your thoughts, and let me say, you all had thoughts! Let’s break down seven of the most common issues fans say Epic Universe needs to tackle ASAP.
We reached out to our followers on Facebook and Instagram to ask: “What problems have you noticed at Epic Universe that need fixing? Bonus points if you already have the perfect solution!” We had quite a few people leave their opinions in the comments!
What do you think?
Now, let’s go over some of your top responses!
Express Pass access is a mess
Finley jumped right in with a concern a lot of guests have been whispering about since day one. They shared,
“Express and regular line merge too early push that point back some. If all you can purchase is single use express it’s not going to have the same impact drastically shortening the express line the way it would with unlimited express over in the two original parks.”
Battle at the Ministry lines
This really highlights two big issues. The merge point makes Express feel less valuable, and the lack of meaningful perks for Helios guests stings at that price point. If Universal wants Express to feel worth it here, the system likely needs some serious rethinking.
There just aren’t enough people-eater attractions
Julie pointed out something that quickly turns excitement into exhaustion. She said,
“There aren’t enough smaller attractions and people eater rides to accommodate the crowds. I was just there and it was pretty exhausting to wait in an hour long line, ride the ride, then see that every other ride had at least an hour long line. They need smaller shows, smaller live entertainment offerings, more meet and greets and more C- and D-ticket rides that can be ridden between the E-tickets.”
That’s a looot of people
This is classic theme park math. Big rides are great, but without smaller experiences to soak up crowds, everything backs up fast. Shows, walkthroughs, and lower intensity rides could make a massive difference here.
Shade is seriously lacking
Brennie brought up an issue Floridians know all too well. They shared,
“They need more shade. There are places that they could plant trees and easily erect umbrella like shelters over benches. Do not sit on the benches when it is hot out, you will get burned!”
Isle of Berk
New parks often struggle with this at first, but shade isn’t optional in Central Florida. Trees take time to grow, but umbrellas and covered seating can help immediately.
No annual pass options
Sarah called out something that has left locals feeling a bit stuck. She said,
“The biggest problem right now is no annual pass options. As is now, this park is great for locals to come and just hang out and enjoy the atmosphere only. But people aren’t going to do that for the cost of an individual park ticket.”
Celestial Park
Epic Universe feels like a park you want to pop into, not always commit to a full day. Without annual passes, that casual local crowd is getting priced out.
Accessibility concerns are popping up
Ashley raised an important issue that should never be overlooked. She shared,
“Strobe light warnings on every ride but one. Not very accessible.”
Hiccup’s Wing Gliders
Clear warnings matter, especially for guests with sensory sensitivities or medical conditions. Consistency here is key, and it feels like an easy fix.
Weather disruptions and dining delays
Erin focused on two very practical problems. She said,
“More indoor rides so there is more to do during lightning. Also Toads Cafe should not take 90 minutes to get your food. 🥲”
Toadstool Cafe
Weather happens, and when it does, having indoor options keeps the day from grinding to a halt. Faster dining would help too, especially when guests are already stuck waiting things out.
Not enough for non-thrill seekers
Lacee summed up a concern we hear a lot from families and guests with health needs. She shared,
“US is almost all coasters and thrill rides. I have extreme motion sickness and there is almost nothing I can do there. At Disney there is plenty for pregnant moms, babies and toddlers, old people, people with health concerns, etc. Universal is for brave kids, teens, and healthy adults. I understand that stuff is a lot more exciting but why not make some things that everyone can enjoy?”
Thrill rides are exciting, but a truly great park has something for everyone. Adding a number of more calming attractions would open Epic Universe up to a much wider audience.
Epic Universe
Well, those were just some of the “problems” you noticed at Epic Universe that need fixing, and now we want to hear even more from you! In the meantime, stay tuned to AllEars for all the latest Universal news!

I went to Epic in October and that part is definitely NOT for me! My biggest issue is the parking! THEY HAVE NO TRAM AND THAT PARKING LOT IS HUGE AND WAY TOO FAR FROM THE PARK ENTRANCE WITHOUT A TRAM!!!! Sure it’s fine for young people BUT for middle age people and seniors…FORGET IT!! AND how stupid is that…older guests are THE ONES WITH THE MONEY!!! You’re totally exhausted by the time you make it to the entrance! Second, it’s too spread out….the lands are too far apart with NOTHING in between! I am diabetic, and I was fearful of trying to make it back to my car! So I went to security at the entrance and asked if security could get me out to my car with a golf cart….They told me that all of their golf carts were taken away from them!!!! Then I went over to where you get wheelchairs..they said sure, and offered me a wheelchair! THERE WAS NO WAY I COULD GET OUT THEIR BY MYSELF IN A WHEELCHAIR! Then finally a security guard got me out to my car in the wheelchair! Someone is going to have a health crisis or issue and Security is without the means to render any assistance without golf carts! Security does not patrol that parking lot……someone could fall and be stuck out there for who knows how long!!! These are disasters and law suits waiting to happen! All you hear is what they are planning to build! They ought to work on infrastructure issues and safety for their guests, and better Security! What a mess! I certainly won’t be going back unless I feel safe!
Hi Margaret, I don’t know if this information would be helpful in your situation, but there are companies you can rent ECVs from (the electric scooters you see in the parks) that will drop them off at your resort and you can take them on Universal transportation (if you’re staying off-site there may be a hotel shuttle that can help as well). We recommend Buena Vista Scooters.
I know it’s extra money that you would have to budget for and that’s not something everyone is willing to do, but it could be a viable option if you ever decided you wanted to go back in the future.
We went to US in November and the biggest problem by far is the number of delays and ride closures. Imagine waiting in a slow moving line only to have it come to a complete stop for 20-30 minutes while a technical glitch is resolved. Exhausting, frustrating and happens way too often!
