The My Disney Experience app is a great tool that will help you before, during, and even after your vacation to Disney World.
The app can help you look at attraction wait times, book Lightning Lanes, make dining reservations, be your room key, and so much more. The app has so many hidden features that not many people seem to know about. For example, did you know that you can view EPCOT’s current festival passport on the app? Or that you can find the location of water bottle refill stations on the app? The app is there to help make your vacation a breeze. We have a secret app tip when we book our vacations at Disney World, and of course, we are going to share it with you!
There is so much to think about when you are planning your vacation to Disney World; not only do you need to worry about park tickets, hotels, and travel, but there are also things going on around the resort that you need to plan for in advance. Sometimes, big events like runDisney can cause road closures. Sometimes, hotels have construction going on around the resort, which can affect which offerings are open, like the pool.
You may be so excited to ride one of your favorite attractions, and when you finally get to the park, you see that it is closed for refurbishment. While this might not be the end of the world, it is still disappointing.
Well, did you know you could avoid this disappointment by looking ahead? While we will always be here to notify you of any ride closures, hotel construction, or even significant events, it can be helpful to have the resources on where to find this information on your own while you plan.
There is a web browser version of Disney World’s website that will let you see park hours and some closures in advance. The problem is that the calendar does not go too far out.
For example, when we looked on September 10th, we could only see out until November 9th, about two months in advance. We could see park hours and closures up until November 13th, but this varies from page to page.
You can see a little further ahead on the My Disney Experience app. Simply open the app and view the park hours, then click “All Hours” to be brought to the calendar page.
When we went through the calendar, we could see out until November 19th, which is ten days more than we could see out on the web browser version.
Once you reach the desired range of dates, simply scroll down to see current park and restaurant closures.
Being able to see out 40+ days in advance can help you plan out your park days and help avoid any disappointment of potential unknown closures. As always, make sure to check your resort’s website for any resort closures. They will be listed in red on the home page.
