Disney World is full of teachable moments — even for those of us that write about it every day!

One of our editors just got back from a trip to Disney World and she told me how this simple thing made SUCH a difference for her…so you know I had to immediately run to tell you!
We talk all the time about how important the right shoes are for Disney World, but guess what my coworker recently found out? Yeah, the right SOCKS make a big difference too!

Now, I knew a little bit of this from personal experience, but I thought she just meant to make sure your socks were high enough and wouldn’t cause blisters (been there, done that, never again). But no, she meant buying actual, quality socks.

So I said, “What do you mean by QUALITY socks? Aren’t all socks that don’t fall apart considered quality?” After she had gently corrected me and reminded me that I know nothing about clothes, she told me she’s talking about cushier socks in particular. Ones that are advertised as being made for lots of walking, not just the socks you see in the grocery story that tell you how high they are, their color, and then just say “socks.”

These are socks you may see advertised for hiking in particular — these socks are made with thicker material that cushion your feet inside your shoes better (and are far less likely to end up with holes after your vacation — again I say been there, done that). And according to my coworker, these made a HUGE difference for her walking around the parks.

If you’re not sure where to start, we’ve got some great suggestions for you! Starting with the BERING Women’s Performance Athletic Ankle Running Socks.

Not only do these come in a variety of different colors so they’ll match your outfits better, but they’re also great for those who don’t want their socks to stick out of their sneakers too much.
You won’t regret grabbing them!
If you’re still looking for that shorter fit but need some compression in there, the CWVLC Unisex Cushioned Compression Athletic Ankle Socks are great!

Compression socks are a great way to make sure your feet stay comfortable while the blood flows through them. That may not sound super important, but trust us, you feel the difference!
And if compression is the most important thing to you, or you need socks that go up higher, grab the Elite Cushioned Compression Mid-crew Socks!

These are great if you need more compression on your calves as well, and if you don’t want to run the risk of your ankle socks slipping and giving you blisters.
Of course, she was already wearing shoes that she had broken in and knew were comfortable to wear, so the combination of the two is where the real magic lies. Have one without the other and it won’t be exactly what you’re looking for!

So I don’t know about you all, but I’m fully convinced and will be buying a pair ASAP…and will just hope I don’t regret not having them this trip because at the time of writing I leave in about 7 hours (whoops).
