Change is in the air around Disney World.

We’re celebrating spooky season and the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival, and before long the Festival of Holidays and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party will be here. Those aren’t the only changes coming to Disney World soon, either, because we spotted new permits that might mean more construction is on the way!
Fort Wilderness
Disney previously announced that new “refreshed” cabins to Fort Wilderness! These refreshed cabins will be part of “The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort – A Disney Vacation Club Resort,” and it looks like a permit has officially been filed for this construction!

The permit was filed by Buena Vista Construction Company — which is operated by Walt Disney Imagineering — and is to “Provide labor, material, and/or electrical for construction.” Each cabin is set to offer enough space for 6 adults to sleep. There will be a bedroom, bathroom, living room, full kitchen, and private patio. Plus, a select number of cabins are expected to be dog-friendly.
Animal Kingdom Lodge
Another permit was filed for a Disney World hotel — Animal Kingdom! Construction will be starting at Jambo House and will be done by ADT Commercial.

The description of the permit is to “Remove and replace 40 loaded and corroded semi-recessed [pendant] heads at Jambo House,” which has something to do with the fire sprinkler system from what we can tell. We’re not sure if this work will impact your stay, but we’ll be sure to update you!
EPCOT
Two permits were recently filed in EPCOT — or at the Toll Plaza, at least! New signs will be coming to this area soon. One permit is for installing a new exit sign, while the other one is to, “Install [a] sign.” There aren’t too many details on either permit, so we’re not sure how extensive this could be for now.

We’ll keep an eye out and let you know if any of this work could impact your trip to EPCOT or cause delays when paying for parking!
Disney Springs
We also saw that a permit was filed for the Disney Springs Town Center area. It looks like the permit is to “Install 1 truss footer[s] in planters located in Disney Springs Town Center,” which means the planters in this area could be getting a refresh.

Another permit was filed for Disney Springs and is listed as “Area development — install two speaker poles in courtyard.” Based on the address on the permit, this seems to be the Orange Parking Garage. We’re thinking this construction might be for the area in front of the garage, but we’ll let you know when we find out for sure.
