There are new things to keep in mind when booking a trip, like Park Pass reservations (which are required), and whether you’re going to opt into purchasing Disney Genie+ (the new way to skip the line at Disney World’s attractions). And now, even if you’ve visited the parks recently, the Park Pass Reservation System may look new to you too.

The Park Pass Reservation System got a new look! Over on the My Disney Experience App, when you click on the date you want to visit…

…it brings up this screen, which allows you to select the park you want to start in! The screen used to function similarly but only listed the parks out based on availability — now you’ll see the park icons for those with availability and click the “Select” button for whichever park you’re reserving that day. This makes it a bit easier to differentiate between the parks on your screen and ensure that you’re booking the right ones.

It also still has all those important details about when you can park hop and Bonus Reservations for Disney World Annual Passholders.

If you haven’t booked a trip to Disney World since the Park Pass Reservation System was implemented, here are some important things to keep in mind:

  • You need a Park Pass reservation, along with a valid ticket for every day of your trip.
  • Your Park Pass reservation identifies the park you’ll start your day in, and you must scan into that park before you’re able to park hop to another (if you’re purchased a park hopper ticket).
  • Park hopping begins at 2PM.
  • Park Pass reservations do fill up, so be sure to book reservations as soon as you know your trip dates.
