There are so many projects, shows, and attractions set to open soon in Disney World! After a long period of uncertainty, we finally learned that the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue is returning soon, plus the Connections Cafe & Eatery and long-awaited Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind attraction are opening later this year! With so many big projects in the works, it’s hard to keep track.

We love looking at all the little details in Disney World!

Luckily, our weekly refurbishment update fills you in on all the current refurbishments in Disney World so you know exactly what to expect. Let’s take a look at everything that will be closed in Disney World from April 4th to April 10th, 2022.

Magic Kingdom Refurbishments

Walt Disney World Railroad

The Magic Kingdom‘s Walt Disney World Railroad is both a convenient and entertaining attraction that transports guests through the park via a classic Disney train. Currently, though, the train is unavailable. The attraction has been closed for a long time and remains closed while Disney works on the new TRON roller coaster. Disney’s TRON construction is blocking a portion of the train tracks.

Main Street Train Station

Disney has not shared an official opening date for TRON: Lightcycle Run, but we’ll continue to look for updates. The good news is that Disney recently teased that the Walt Disney World Railroad may return soon, and we even saw some ride testing on both TRON: Lightcycle Run and the Walt Disney World Railroad!

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Refurbishments

Expedition Everest

Expedition Everest — Legend of the Forbidden Mountain at Disney’s Animal Kingdom is also closed right now. The attraction is in the middle of an extended refurbishment — it’s been closed since early January. Disney stated that the refurbishment is expected to take about 3 months, so we’re hoping that Expedition Everest will be up and running soon!

The closure is expected to last through mid-April 2022, though Disney has not shared a specific opening date yet. We’ll let you know when Disney shares more information!

EPCOT Refurbishments

Souk-Al-Magreb is still closed

This gift shop was supposed to open back in February of 2022, but Disney extended the closure indefinitely. Since then, Disney has not shared any details on when this store will reopen. We did notice that operating hours are listed starting on April 24th, 2022, so we’ll keep our eyes out for more information!

Disney World Water Park Refurbishments

Blizzard Beach Waterpark

Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park is closed for refurbishment, leaving just one water park open this spring!

Blizzard Beach is currently closed

The good news is that Typhoon Lagoon is still open, and starting this summer, guests will even be able to visit the park for a special After Hours event! Disney has not shared a reopening date for Blizzard Beach yet, but we’ll look out for an announcement.
