This time of the year the Sounds Like Summerr concert series is running daily at the American Garden Theater which is located right in front of the American Adventure. Performing in this series are tribute bands playing songs of some truly great recording artists.
Performing this week is Hotel California. This is a group that, as you may imagine, is an Eagles tribute band. The Eagles are a 1970’s “country rock” band that over the years has had a number of hit singles and albums. Some of the Eagles hit songs are: Lyin Eyes, Take It Easy, Desperado, Tequila Sunrise, Peaceful Easy Feeling, The Best Of My Love, Take It To The Limit and Hotel California.
Tip: for those of you who don’t recognize songs by their title (like me) you can go to either YouTube.com and find a video or a website like Amazon.com and look up the greatest hits album. Amazon will allow you to play a few seconds of each song; just enough to help you recognize (or not) the song.
Unfortunately I am unable to get to see Hotel California perform this year. However, I have seen them on a number of occasions in previous years. They are extremely good and sound very much like the the original band. Hotel California are outstanding musicians and sure can play a mean guitar! That along with great vocals make watching Hotel California a real treat. If you’re in the area you should make every effort to get over to see them. You won’t be sorry.

I have seen this band perform the past couple years and really enjoy listening to them. First of all I love the Eagles songs and secondly Hotel California does such a super job with those Eagles songs! They really are a very talented group.
I went into Epcot for the sole purpose of seeing the concerts. So, I stayed for all three sets. The Eagles had so many hit songs that the band played different songs in all three performances. That doesn’t happen with every group. Anyway, it was great to see them play so many great Eagles tunes. And play them really well! Besides the vocals beings top notch, they are outstanding musicians! There were approximately thirteen guitars on the stage and they used them all at one time or another during the evening. Boy, could they play!!!

We enjoyed a great Hotel California show on June 25. It was beyond worth the 20 minute wait in the sun to get into the seating area. They are a talented group of guys, and we were all (including my 9 year old!) singing along to their songs. They did play one that I didn’t recognize called “James Dean”. Even the ahem, older folks in our group didn’t remember it. 🙂
