CONFIRMED: Full List of Disney World Ride Closures in April 2025

Hold up. Are you planning a Disney World trip for April 2025? Read this post before you put any more thought into it!

While there have been lots of permanent closure announcements lately, Disney also schedules several temporary closures to refurbish attractions throughout the year. For anyone planning a visit in April, there are a few closures you’ll want to pay attention to, so let’s go through them now!

Magic Kingdom

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad

The popular coaster is undergoing a lengthy refurbishment! It originally closed in January 2025 and isn’t set to reopen until sometime in 2026. We’ve seen the coaster track being replaced and if you’re in Magic Kingdom soon, you’ll likely spot the cranes behind the ride!

Astro Orbiter

This controversial Tomorrowland ride also closed in January 2025 and we’ve spotted it dismantled in the park. However, it’s set to reopen soon than Big Thunder with “summer 2025” listed as the reopening timeline right now.

Hall of Presidents

This Liberty Square animatronic show closed on January 20th, 2025 for refurbishment. It is expected to open “later in 2025” according to the Disney World website.

Dumbo Playground

While you can still fly high in the sky on Dumbo the Flying Elephant in Storybook Circus, the playground in the queue closed on February 24th, 2025. Disney has not provided a reopening date, but the timeline is spring 2025. So it may be open in April or it might not be — we’ll be sure to keep you updated!

EPCOT

Test Track

Test Track 3.0 is on the way! The ride closed in 2024 to be completely reimagined. Disney has not revealed much about what we can expect, but we do know it’s set to open sometime this summer. If it’s a must, you might want to push back your April Disney World trip!
