SNACK NEWS! Why You Need To Run To EPCOT's China Pavilion ASAP

Let’s just say that the year 2020 did a number on Disney World. Not only did the park close due to the ongoing COVID pandemic, but it reopened, with a lot of restaurants, entertainment, services, and more closed.

Now, many of those things have reopened in Disney World, but a few things have stayed absent nearly six years later, including the handmade sugar art you could once get in EPCOT at the China Pavilion. Well, as of today, we’re happy to report that sugar art is now available again.

The handmade sugar art was once something we loved seeing in EPCOT. Basically, you could watch sugar artists create pretty much any kind of animal you could think of by drizzling melted sugar into that animal’s shape right in front of you. The sugar art was attached to a stick so you could purchase it and then walk around EPCOT with it. Well, now those artists are back at House of Good Fortune, and you can choose from a variety of animals.

A dragonfly, swan, kitten, panda, or dog costs $9, while a hummingbird, butterfly, owl, horse, or bunny costs $14. If you want to go all out, though, you can get a dragon for $22. We chose to go big or go home and went for the dragon. It all starts with melting the sugar and mixing it with a color.

When the sugar is a liquid, it is drizzled from a spoon.

The artist then goes in and adds more details.

Then it’s attached to a stick, and you have one of the most unique souvenirs you can find in EPCOT.
