It's Official! Signs Have Been Installed for a NEW Hollywood Studios Attraction

Later this month, we’ll get the addition of not one, but TWO new shows in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

One of the new shows finally uses up the former space that The Voyage of the Little Mermaid show was in years ago, but now, The Little Mermaid — A Musical Adventure will take up residence in this theatre, and we couldn’t be looking forward to it more. We’re only a few weeks away from opening, and we just spotted new signs in the area!

While we were walking by Animation Courtyard today, we noticed hedges in place, which usually means that Disney is working on something behind them, and when we took a few steps away, we saw a new sign!

The new sign directs guests one direction for the Stand-By entrance and the other way for the Lightning Lane entrance. There’s also a virtual display that will show when the next showtime is. Currently, there’s a gold circle saying “coming soon,” so we’re expecting to see these hedges move away soon, and the “coming soon” sign will likely stay in place until the show opens on May 27th, 2025.

This show is a new theatre show based on the animated film The Little Mermaid. While it’s similar to the previous show, this show features “stunning new set pieces, cutting-edge effects, and a bold new design that captures Ariel’s imagination and emotions through her unique view of the world around her.” It will include a mix of live actors and puppets, and we’ll get to see musical numbers like “Part of Your World,” “Poor Unfortunate Souls,” and “Kiss the Girl” performed.

Opening on the SAME day, May 27th, is Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After, also in Hollywood Studios, so make sure you plan ahead and make time in your day to see both of these new, exciting shows.
