4 Things We Silently Cringe at in Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Disney’s Hollywood Studios is a fantastic park for both movie lovers and thrill-seekers alike.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

You’ve got Tower of Terror and Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster (the ONLY coaster that goes upside down in the whole resort), as well as more family friendly exciting rides like Slinky Dog Dash and Rise of the Resistance. While we love this park for many reasons and know you do too, we have to admit — we see some super cringy things all the time and are BEGGING you to not do these while you’re in the park. Trust us, your vacation will be better for it!

EXTREMELY Bumpy Rides on The Millennium Falcon Thanks to Young Pilots

We LOVE that the Millennium Falcon can be piloted of people of all ages, because it means massive Star Wars fans can have their dream come true, even if they’re only 5 years old. However, we’ll be honest…when we see this we cringe internally, because we know we’re likely in for a REALLY bumpy ride.

Now, we have to give credit where credit is due, because sometimes we’ve had some really young pilots that do a fantastic job, but then we’re with adults who crash us into everything they see. We notice it most often with kids, of course, since their hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills sometimes aren’t the most developed, but it’s also totally possible to be in a ship with adults who don’t realize their actions ACTUALLY affect what happens, and that leads to some rough times.

Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run

If you’re prone to motion sickness, we recommend considering this possibility before riding, because you never know who you’re going to be partnered with, and you can’t exactly request what position to be in. Otherwise, strap in, and prepare yourself for a bumpy ride!

Waiting Until The Last Minute For Fantasmic!

Fantasmic! is one of the most popular shows in all of Disney World, and while that amphitheater can hold a LOT of guests, it’s still entirely possible for it to fill up. The show often has two shows each night, and in that case, the first one will almost always fill up, and while the second one will likely be less crowded. During busier times of year, the second show can fill up as well.

Fantasmic!

That’s why we recommend getting in line for Fantasmic! an HOUR ahead of time if you want one of the best spots, at least half an hour before if you want a decent spot and want to be sure you’ll get in, and absolutely no later than 15 minutes ahead of time at any given time. We majorly cringe when we see people running to get to the theatre just minutes before the show begins, because we know the likelihood of them making it in dwindles with each passing second.

I Watched a Disney World Show Entirely in B Mode…and It Wasn’t As Bad As Everyone Says

Waiting For Slinky Dog Dash in The MIDDLE of The Day

The Slinky Dog Dash line is one of the most brutal in all of Disney World. It’s entirely outside with very little shade, and during hot summer days, it’s just downright awful. That’s why when we see people waiting in a 150-minute line for the attraction during the middle of a summer day, we shake our heads.

Slinky Dog Dash

We highly recommend either rope dropping this attraction, especially if you’re staying at a Disney World hotel and have Early Entry, OR waiting until the evening when the sun has gone down to ride. Waiting in a long line will feel MUCH more doable when the sun isn’t beating down on you — trust us, we’ve been there!

5 Disney World Rides We’d Never Go On If We Were Allergic to Fun

Loudly Following Along With The Pre-Show

We get it, we love Disney World pre-shows just as much as you do, especially over at Muppet*Vision 3D, but remember, there are other people in that pre-show room with you who have never been on this attraction before. It’s important to let them experience the ride/attraction how it’s meant to be…without your loud commentary or recitation of it right next to their ear.

Star Tours

Now, humming the song quietly, saying some of the lines under your breath, or even mouthing along, there’s no issue there, because you’re not disturbing those around you. Along the same lines, if you’ve seen the pre-show hundreds of times and you want to chat with your group instead, no problem! Just make sure you’re keeping your conversation at a respectful volume so those around you can enjoy the show!

  1. NO during the preshow people should be quiet, they should not even be talking quietly amongst themselves, if you want to talk do it somewhere else and skip the attraction. Cause guess what the preshow is actually part of the show and everyone paid to be there and respect should be given to all. To many entitled peopke (IDIOTS) now a days.
