Back in August 2024, it was announced that changes would be coming to the Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run attractions at Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts.

The new storylines for the ride would feature the Mandalorian and his trusty pal Grogu (a.k.a. Baby Yoda), but it wasn’t announced when we would see these changes occur. Now, that question has finally been answered — the ride will change on May 22nd, 2026 (which also happens to be the same weekend that the film will debut, too).
The new scenes are inspired by the new film, The Mandalorian and Grogu, coming to theaters in 2026. Back at D23 in August, Lucasfilm creative executive Dave Filoni spoke to the crowd and said, “Just imagine it: you’ll be able to fly alongside Mando and Grogu on thrilling, and dangerous, missions.”

This brand-new mission built specifically for the ride will hook into the narrative created for the silver screen by Disney Legend John Favreau and Dave Filoni with the groundbreaking Mandolorian film. This new adventure has given Disney Imagineers an amazing opportunity to collaborate with some of the best teams in the industry, from ILM and Lucasfilm’s art department, to create the look and feel necessary to send Mando and Grogu to classic Star Wars universe locations, like the desert planet Tattooine…

…Cloud City on Bespin…

…and revisit the wreckage of the 2nd Death Star at Endor.

Together with ILM using RealEngine 5 by Epic Games, Disney has collaborated to develop the gameplay that will coordinate with these new locations you’ll soon be able to visit as you navigate the “fastest hunk of junk” in the Galaxy.
