Disney World Adds NEW Attraction to Genie+

It is a big day for EPCOT as the park is celebrating the opening of CommuniCore Hall and Plaza. This area has been under construction for years, but now it is finally open!

The opening of CommuniCore Hall and Plaza marks the completion of the EPCOT transformation. Although that does not mean there won’t be any more changes in store for EPCOT. We already know that Test Track will be reimagined beginning June 17th, 2024.

However, the completion of CommuniCore Hall and Plaza is a huge step and brings a variety of new entertainment options to EPCOT. CommuniCore Plaza is an outdoor space that will offer a variety of live entertainment, including the new “¡Celebración Encanto!” show. CommuniCore Hall is an indoor space that will provide space for exhibitions, festival offerings, live entertainment, and much more.

With the opening of CommuniCore Hall, the Genie+ service just got a new attraction added. The new “Meet Beloved Disney Pals at Mickey & Friends” meet and greet is located inside of CommuniCore Hall and is now being offered as a part of the Genie+ service.

With the Genie+ service, you can book a lightning lane for select attractions throughout the park. A lightning lane allows you to enter the attraction via the lightning lane entrance which provides a shorter wait time than the standby line. The Genie+ service is an additional purchase, with the price of the service varying based on the day.

If you are hoping to meet Mickey & Friends at their new location in EPCOT, you can meet them either by standing in a normal standby line or making a Disney Genie+ selection for the experience. You can purchase Genie+ through the My Disney Experience app and make your selections in the app.

When you make a Genie+ selection, you will select an hour window for your party to return to the attraction. Once at the attraction, you will scan your park ticket on the Lightning Lane touchpoints. Most attractions are included in the Genie+ service, however some will also require the additional purchase of an Individual Lightning Lane. The Individual Lightning Lane is for some of the more popular attractions including Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind.
