If you didn’t know any better, you might look at the recent Disney World park pass reservation calendar and wonder why a seemingly random day in May is completely booked up! Of course, most people expect to see the Disney World parks at capacity around the holiday season, but now a few days in May are looking pretty busy. What’s up with that?
Don’t worry — we have the answer! If you’re planning a trip to Disney World towards the end of May this year, you might want to take a look at your plans. Something big is coming to EPCOT that is going to draw some major crowds to the park.
Disney recently announced that EPCOT’s newest attraction, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, is opening on May 27th, 2022.
Ahead of the big opening date, select Disney World guests and Cast Members will preview the ride, but Cosmic Rewind will open to the general public on May 27th.
Unlike past grand ride openings in Disney World, the new park pass reservation system requires guests to reserve a spot in the park before their visit. In order to ride Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, guests must first book a park pass reservation in EPCOT.
Looking at the current park pass reservation calendars, we noticed that May 27th is already completely booked up on the Annual Passholder calendar. The Incredi Pass, for example, shows EPCOT is at capacity for the day.
Additionally, the Sorcerer Pass shows that May 27th is all booked up. May 18th-21st also appear to be all booked up.
Even the Pirate Pass has no EPCOT availability on Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind opening day.
Finally, the Pixie Dust Pass calendar shows the same thing. As you can probably guess, EPCOT is going to be pretty crowded in late May.
We’ll keep our eyes on the other Disney World park pass calendars, so make sure to stay tuned for all the latest Disney news and park updates!
