Hear Us Out — You Need to Take a Break at Walt Disney World

Listen, we totally get it: you’re at Walt Disney World, the Most Magical Place on Earth. You’ve planned for what feels like ages. Your bank account is reeling. But despite all of it, you need to take a break while you’re in Disney World.

It might sound crazy to hit the pause button while you’re here, but it’s important, and your memories will thank you later. Here’s why.

Walt Disney World can be… a lot. Seriously, you’d have to have Avenger-level super-abilities to maintain the stamina to keep going nonstop for days on end. So unless you’re secretly the reincarnation of Iron Man, we’d strongly advise you slow it down.

Disney World is a destination where it’s waaaaay too easy to overdo it, over-plan, push yourself to keep going, and try to cram everything in for what you perceive as the “perfect vacation.”

There’s a lot of walking at Disney!

Well, we’re here to tell you that the “perfect vacation” certainly doesn’t involve exhaustion or overstimulation! Take a breather. It’s okay!

Doesn’t this look relaxing?

As tempting as it may be to wake up at the crack of dawn for rope drop and Park Hop until fireworks (followed by late-night drinks at Disney Springs, no doubt), you’re gonna need to take a break in order to reset, relax, and ultimately appreciate everything more.

Take a break so you can enjoy these

Between the crowds, the heat, the sea of strollers, and the oppressive sunshine (and/or torrential rain), Disney World can take a lot out of you, and if you force yourself to go at 100% through all of it, you might end up getting sick of it! Taking time for a little R&R prevents that burnout and keeps your memories warm and fuzzy.

And the notion of “taking a break” can mean many different things to different people, too. Don’t feel like you need to head back to your room for a nap. Just do whatever it is that relaxes you, wherever that may be!

Maybe that means sitting by your resort pool, leaving Disney property for a different kind of castle, reading a book, or sipping a margarita in a tequila cave. You do you!

At the end of the day, it’s impossible to fit every little thing into your Disney trip. Don’t beat yourself up for missing out on a ride, not getting a dining reservation, or not sufficiently Drinking Around the World.

That just means you’ll have more things to look forward to on your next trip, and anticipation just makes the heart grow fonder!
