The Disney Planning Service You Forgot About IS Still a Thing

At the 2019 D23 Expo, Disney mentioned a new app called the “Disney Genie.” The company hinted that it would give guests the tools they need to seamlessly plan their days at Disney parks.

Last year, we got a preview of the app and saw how it could be used to help guests take the hassle out of planning their day at a Disney park.  We learned that the app would allow guests to make and change plans throughout the day based on preferences and Disney’s recommendations based on types of attractions, locations, wait times, and more, allowing guests to create their own customized itinerary. Sounds very handy!

At an event today, Josh D’Amaro, the Chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products, and other Disney officials spoke about a number of things, including Disney Genie.

First, it’s going to launch soon at Disney World! You’ll be able to tell the app exactly what you want to do and it will create an optimized itinerary for your day. It’s also flexible, so if your plans change, you can change them and have the app re-optimize your itinerary.

Disney World guests will soon have an easy way to plan their day with less stress and more ease. Sounds like a win-win to us. So far no official release date has been announced, but we’ll be sure to keep you updated as more information becomes available.

  1. So will this take care of ADR and FastPass for us? Or just suggest attractions with a proposed itinerary? I’m still confused what this does.
