The holiday season will arrive at Disney World on November 6th! Disney shared a ton of information today when it comes to exactly what will be different this year with Disney World’s holiday happenings.

Major events that typically draw big crowds are cancelled for 2020, including Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and EPCOT’s Candlelight Processional. But there will be a number of entertainment offerings at each of the four theme parks that fall in step with Disney World’s new health and safety guidelines.
In all four parks, Santa Claus will make special appearances to wave to guests and spread his jolly holiday cheer! Each of the parks will have a festive spin on their character cavalcades.

In Magic Kingdom, the holiday twist will include elves, reindeer, and gingerbread men! And if you were hoping those Toy Soldiers would return this year, you’re in luck! They will join the Main Street Philharmonic and march throughout Magic Kingdom.

One of the biggest changes coming to Magic Kingdom this year is that the Castle Dream Lights will not return this year. Instead, a series of projection designs will decorate the castle, including a Christmas sweater as well as red, green, and gold ornamentation!

Over at EPCOT, there will be some noticeable changes this holiday season, as the Candlelight Processional will not be taking place in 2020. While this popular entertainment offering will be taking a hiatus this year, there will be other ways to celebrate the season at EPCOT, starting with holiday promenades throughout the park.

In addition, the group JOYFUL! will return to World Showplace. Christmas and holiday music will be performed in the style of R&B, Gospel, and contemporary music.

Additionally, the fan-favorite group Voices of Liberty WILL take part in the festivities at America Gardens Theatre stage for special holiday concerts.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney’s Animal Kingdom will also have unique holiday entertainment offerings with special character cavalcades. Those adorable character floats will have a festive spin in Animal Kingdom, and Hollywood Studios will have “merry motorcades” as well!
