Best Places to Avoid the Crowds in Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Looking for a place to escape from the crowds in Disney’s Hollywood Studios? We have some secluded spots in mind!

Hollywood Studios

Now that Disney World has reopened, we’ve been keeping a close eye on what it’s like to visit the Parks with new capacity and safety measures in place. And in doing so, we’ve noticed that the one Park that has consistently drawn a pretty dense crowd is Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

So where can you sneak off to take a break from the masses? Let’s take a look!

BaseLine Tap House

There are few “under-the-radar” places in the parks, but we would call BaseLine Tap House a relatively hidden gem by Disney World standards. Located on Grand Avenue, this bar and lounge offers up a few small plates and an impressive selection of beer, wine, and cider on tap — hence the name!

There’s a small amount of indoor seating, but most of the seating is located in the open-air patio area. Since it’s not a huge space and capacity is limited, this should feel like a fairly secluded spot to grab a snack or a drink while escaping the surrounding hustle and bustle.

Star Wars Launch Bay

There are two relaxation stations in Hollywood Studios. One is located in Galaxy’s Edge, but in our experience, we’ve found that the second station located in Star Wars Launch Bay is much more, well, relaxing. This is one of the largest relaxation stations we’ve seen in all of Disney World, and each time we’ve visited, it was nearly empty inside.

This is a great spot to swing by if you need a break from the crowd. Plus, you can enjoy the air conditioning while looking at some cool Star Wars memorabilia.

Muppet*Vision 3D

Nearly all of the Hollywood Studios attractions have drawn crowds (and the resulting queues) since the reopening. But Muppet*Vision 3D has mostly managed to avoid the rush of guests that the other attractions have seen.

If you want to escape the crowd while enjoying some classic entertainment courtesy of the Muppets, make your way to this show on Grand Avenue.

Outside the Exit of Tower of Terror

While Tower of Terror itself has remained a popular attraction since the reopening of the Park, there’s a place just outside the ride where we like to stop for a quick break. As you’re exiting the Tower of Terror gift shop, turn to the left and you’ll find a small seating area that’s usually pretty empty.

Since this seating area is a dead-end, most guests will turn to the right and head directly back out to Sunset Boulevard. Whether you need a quick break after riding the attraction, or you’re just looking for a secluded spot in the area, this is worth checking out — or should we say checking in?

Backlot Express

Located between Star Tours — The Adventure Continues and the currently closed Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular, Backlot Express is relatively removed from the big-ticket attractions in Hollywood Studios that have been drawing the largest crowds. Since it’s tucked into somewhat of a back corner of the park, Backlot Express is one of your best bets if you’re looking for a quiet Quick Service meal.

Plus, this restaurant also has a large seating area, so it can absorb guests better than a place like Ronto Roasters (which really has no dedicated seating). So even if there are several other parties here, you should be able to space out without feeling cramped.

While the attendance in Disney World has remained relatively low compared to before the closure, there are definitely places in the Parks where we feel crowds. And that’s especially true in Hollywood Studios, which boasts several newer, big-ticket attractions. If you find yourself needing a break from the Hollywood Studios crowds, head to one of these spots for some solitude!
