As Disney World begins the phased reopening of their Resort hotels, we are taking a look at all of the new health and safety procedures in place that you can expect on your trip!

When we visited a few of the hotels today for the first time since mid-March, we noticed something interesting that was NOT present for their reopening.
Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort was not taking anyone’s temperatures upon entry. While Disney had never said that the hotels would be implementing this procedure, it is one we have seen take place at Disney Springs, and that will be taking place when the parks reopen.

After speaking with a Cast Member, we were able to confirm that for now, temperature checks are NOT happening at the Resort hotel. However, when guests go through the online check-in process, you confirm that you are not experiencing any symptoms.

Since Disney Springs reopened on May 20th, temperature screenings have become a new regular encounter for guests looking to visit Disney World. It was also announced that temperature checks would be a required component of entering the theme parks.

Temperature screenings have also been present throughout Universal Orlando, including at their hotels.

While this is the current procedure in place, it’s important to note that it could change in the future! We did see many other procedures in place, like the new Mobile Dine Check In at Topolino’s Terrace.

We will continue to keep you updated, so keep an eye out for MORE news and updates as we cover the grand reopening of Disney’s Vacation Club Resort hotels today!
