Everything You Need to Know About Temperature Checks at Disney Springs!

Since the reopening of Universal Orlando CityWalk, we’ve received a lot of questions about how temperature screenings will work at Disney Springs.

Today, we’re here at the reopening of Disney Springs to answer all your questions! We experienced the new temperature checks before entering the shopping and dining district already. Here are our thoughts!

Disney has set several new health and safety protocols in place for Disney Springs to make sure that guests and employees are safe.

In addition to the requirement of face masks and increased sanitization, guests will also go through a temperature check upon entering Disney Springs. Any guest with a temperature of 100.4 degrees will not be allowed to enter, and neither will anyone in their party.

When we arrived at Disney Springs, we were directed to the Orange parking garage near the Coca Cola store for temperature checks. Today, there is self-parking without parking attendants, but that may not be how future parking will be handled.

The temperature checks were actually very similar to Universal CityWalk’s. Guests stood apart from Cast Members at a designated line marker to be checked.

Cast Members would then greet guests (with that sweet Disney attitude we have missed!) and wave a contactless thermometer in front of their foreheads.

After checking to see the guest’s temperature, the Cast Member would then wave them through to explore Disney Springs. To make the experience a little more light-hearted for kids, we witnessed a few children go through successfully, which each time was celebrated with a round of applause.

Purell hand-sanitizing stations were located before and after the temperature checks for guests to use.

There was also a separate tent off to the side for re-screening. If a guest had a temperature over 100.4 after going through the checks, they were able to sit inside the tent to try and cool off. However, if their temperature was still too high after being re-screened, they would be asked to leave.

As this is a new procedure for Disney Springs to implement, we will keep you updated with any developments we come across.
