Why Staying at Disney's Yacht Club Resort Is a BAD Idea Right Now

Construction is ALL over Disney World right now, and it’s not just the parks.

While Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, and Magic Kingdom all have LOTS of construction walls up as they work on their various projects, the Disney World hotels are joining in as well. We stopped by Disney’s Yacht Club Resort quickly to check on them, and let’s just say that it’s more construction walls than ACTUAL walls right now.

Back in May, Disney announced that Disney’s Yacht Club Resort would be undergoing “routine exterior maintenance” from early June through September. Sure enough, there’s a LOT of maintenance going on — so much so that it doesn’t really look like the front of the hotel is very visible.

The hotel is still available for all guests to use, and the only part closed is the porte-cochere, but if you were hoping to look at the beautiful exterior of the front of the hotel, you’ll be out of luck for a little while. It’s also a bit confusing to find the entrance, but there are Cast Members and signs to help you out.

It’s also important to know that because of this construction, you very well may hear lots of noise during the day. This won’t be an issue if you’re planning to stay at the parks throughout each day, but if you or your group is planning to take a nap back at the hotel during the day, that noise might affect those plans.

We suggest bringing a noise machine, or downloading a noise app on your phone, if you are planning on napping during the day, or you typically sleep later in the morning and head into the parks later.
