Disney Springs will be officially reopening to the public tomorrow, May 20th, but local news media got a soft preview today to see first-hand the new protocol that will be implemented at Disney World’s shopping and dining district.
Let’s check out the preview of Disney Springs’ new way of operation, with face masks, a new “Greeter” team, and more!
Amanda Dukes, reporter WESH TV, NBC Orlando, shared a video showing one of the entry points where Guests will have their temperatures checked. Guests that show temperatures of 100.4 degrees or higher will not be allowed to enter, nor will anyone in that Guest’s party. Additionally, directional arrows have also been placed throughout Disney Springs to help guests practice physical distancing and to keep traffic moving on one side.

The Greeters’ roles are also to make the experience fun for kids, who may have a different experience than adults when it comes to this new normal of visiting Disney Springs. Also added to Disney Springs are the hand-washing stations we saw begin to appear shortly before the temporary closures.

Cierra Putman noted the presence of face masks in Disney Springs. While everyone is wearing a mask, she noted that “It actually hasn’t been that bad walking around with our gear,” even in the high temperatures this afternoon.

In front of the World of Disney store (which will be reopening May 27th), there are also markers set up that tell guests where to stand, and where not to stand.
