Mobile Dine Check-In

As Walt Disney World prepared to reopen in summer 2020, they released several enhancements to the My Disney Experience app in order to facilitate more contactless transactions between guests and the World. One new enhancement is the use of My Disney Experience’s new Mobile Dine Check-In.

What is Mobile Dine Check-In?

Mobile Dine Check-In is Disney’s electronic Table Service restaurant check-in system. It allows diners with Advance Dining Reservations to skip the host(ess) stand check-in by checking in virtually on My Disney Experience.

How does Mobile Dine Check-In work?

When it’s time for your Advance Dining Reservation, your location- and notification-enabled My Disney Experience app will send you a push notification. You’ll navigate from there to check-in on your smartphone.

Alternatively, you can use your smartphone to scan a QR code in the restaurant lobby to check-in for your reservation.

Boathouse Check-in

The app will lead you through the steps of confirming your arrival time and details about your party (i.e. how many diners are in your group). When it’s time for your party to be seated, you’ll receive another notification to proceed to a specific location for seating.

Tips for Using Mobile Dine Check-In

You’ll want to be sure you have the most recently updated version of My Disney Experience on your iOS or Android smartphone. You will need to enable location services and notifications.

Is using Mobile Dine Check-In required?

Mobile Dine Check-In is intended to increase contactless interactions at Walt Disney World Table Service restaurants. It will also likely reduce the number of diners who congregate in sometimes-tight restaurant check-in areas.

However, Disney has not said that Mobile Dine Check-In will replace check-in stands completely. Guests who opt not to use Mobile Dine Check-In or who do not own smartphones are expected still to be able to approach the host(ess) stand to check-in as before.
