We recently returned from an eight-day stay at The Art of Animation with family; it's our granddaughters' favorite resort. While we enjoyed our stay, the resort requires updating. Our room had damage to the bathroom door, and the full-length mirror attached would make a loud sound when the door was closed, as it wasn't securely fastened.
The food court has suffered since the advent of Covid. Selections have paired down, and on one day, I ordered a pulled pork sandwich. The pork was delicious, but the bun was either very stale or the victim of multiple microwaving.
Having the Skyline is one of the resort's most significant advantages. Word of warning though we waited over an hour and a half going to Epcot. Take into consideration this was during the Christmas Holidays (early December) and rope drop. I strongly advise not using the Skyline for rope drops. In other time periods, the Skyline had short or next to no waiting.
Economically The Art of Animation is a good choice and magical with its theming. Disney has changed. The cost has increased, and some of its services have suffered.

Pros:

The skyline and pricing

Cons:

Food Court is limited and the quality has suffered.

Art of Animation is so much fun! There is lots to do! The rooms aren’t the best, but we once got this Finding Nemo suite that was really cool! Plus, if you go underwater in the main pool you can here music! (Mostly from Disney movies like the Little Mermaid) I think Disney really goes above and beyond to make your stay one of a kind and special, and this resort is perfect for someone looking for a cheap place to stay, that still has that magic touch.

Pros:

Layout, theming, UNDERWATER MUSIC IN THE POOL!!!!!!!

Cons:

Rooms are decent and could have been better

Honestly a major let down. With all the money that was paid I wish we would have got better service. There was only two blankets and there was three beds. And when we called the front desk to brink up some extra blankets they never came. And we were also told that someone would come into the room and clean it while we were at the park and no body came and did a thing. With all the people that came with me only one person liked the room and it was our little six year old. The room also felt extra small and the bathroom was also small. With all the money that was spent I did not expect to look at room that looked like we only paid $20 for it. Also even though we were still in the room somebody nocked only gave us like ten seconds to answer and then opened our door. The crew member did NOT tell us she was going to open the door.

Pros:

The outside of the hotel was cute. If you really like Disney then you would have loved it. It was visually appealing

Cons:

To expensive for really bad quality of service.

I loved my stay here. If you love Disney animated films and the nostalgia they give you as an adult, you'll enjoy this resort. I stayed in a Little Mermaid room with two queen beds. It was a tight fit, my door almost opened into the bed, but it's laid out well and nice and crisp looking with the new flooring. I love the theming if this room. If course The Little Mermaid is my absolute favorite so I may be a little biased. The amenities are not as nice as the Deluxe resorts and the large loud eating area can be a bit overwhelming, but it's a fun place to stay. And even when my feet ached at night on my return from the parks, I loved walking past the larger than life statues. And it was great fun to take the skyliner to the Riviera resort for lunch and then on to Epcot for the afternoon/evening.

Pros:

Fun theming that you'll never tire of even when your feet ache

Cons:

Somewhat chaotic common areas

I loved Art of Animation. The family friendly look makes it even better. I would live there if I could. The only problem I had is the rooms are a little small(Little Mermaid room not the Suites)

Pros:

There are more then one way to get to some of the parks unlike the All Stars.

Cons:

The rooms are fairly small if you stay in the Little Mermaid rooms.

Great theming and love the access to the skyliner and the fact that you can bus to POP (if the pop bus arrives sooner) and walk back to the resort. I did give this resort a lower rating, rating because I have only stayed in the Little Mermaid rooms and never. again. That walk is just not worth it, unless you just LOVE Ariel

Pros:

Skyliner. Great Disney feel. Walk to Pop Century.

Cons:

Walk to Little Mermaid is horrible after a day at the park.

I have stayed at Fort Wilderness and Caribbean…..and will still put this at the top of the list. The convenience to the skyliner, busses always available, great food, amazing kid activities were over the top! Our room was cozy! I loved the staff. Everything about this place surpassed my expectations.

Pros:

Skyliner, pool, food, staff

Cons:

****could not fish**** but understandable. I am not fond of Gators either.

Stayed there in 2013 with family. We loved the cars family suites. There was more than enough room for our family. Having 2 full bathrooms made for easy times for bathing and potty time. We did not have the skyliner back then but with the skyliner there now makes it that much easier to get to Hollywood Studios and Epcot. The food court was good. I wish there was a little more options thou for food since you do pay a rather high price for the family suites. It would be nice to see more moderate resort options there.

Pros:

Large rooms, the pools, the sky liner

Cons:

need more food options, not enough moderate resort options for the price you pay.
