Disney World is changing, and it’s changing FAST!

Classic attractions are on their way out to make way for the newest additions in Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, AND Disney’s Hollywood Studios — so much so that I’ve quite literally never seen so much go-away-green in the parks before (that’s the color Disney uses on their walls/behind-the-scenes aspects that they don’t want you paying attention to — the color literally makes you more likely to ignore what’s there! It’s science, but that’s all I know about it.). However, there are already some new additions that have made their way that I think you should REALLY check out on your next trip — they’re not to be missed!
Disney Starlight: Dream The Night Away
While the go-away-green walls are strong over in Frontierland as Disney makes way for the new Piston Peak land inspired by Cars, you’ll want to grab a spot along the parade route to see Disney’s newest parade, and the first Disney World NIGHTTIME parade in years, Disney Starlight!

This parade debuted officially on July 20th, and it’s been a hit ever since. It’s gorgeous, energetic, has a great soundtrack, and those performers on every float (and in between!) are incredible. It’s important to know, though, that this parade route is backwards, meaning instead of starting in Frontierland, it ENDS in Frontierland (and begins at the top of Main Street).

Many people will stake out the best spot hours in advance, but if you walk up about half an hour before the parade is set to start (check your My Disney Experience App for the most up-to-date information), you should be able to find a halfway decent spot, as long as it’s not a super busy time of year (if that’s the case, an hour early AT MINIMUM — trust me).
The Little Mermaid: A Musical Adventure
Over in Hollywood Studios, Muppets Courtyard may be closed, and Animation Courtyard as a whole (well, almost) is gearing up to close on September 25th to get a massive overhaul. You can experience the new The Little Mermaid: A Musical Adventure show that opened this past summer!

This show is an updated retelling of the classic animated story, told with some new songs from the film that weren’t included in the previous version, new animatronics, costumes, and more. For any fans of the story, it’s a must-see for sure.

This show does utilize Lightning Lane Multi Pass due to the smaller size theatre, but we don’t really recommend prioritizing that. Sure, grab one if you can, but if it’s not available, don’t stress!
Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After
Last but most certainly not last, I have to recommend Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After, located over on Sunset Boulevard. Now, not that I’m biased or anything, but I truly think this is a must-see show for any fans of Disney Villains or live entertainment in general!

In this show, three Villains battle to see who is the most misunderstood of all. Will it be the fashionable Cruella De Vil? What about the charismatic Captain Hook? Or will it be the one and only Maleficent? You, as the audienc,e get to decide, so the show could be different every time you see it!

You’ll also see some other iconic Villains throughout the show, so keep an eye out — you may spot your favorite on one of the many screens on stage. (And listen, I’m not saying you SHOULD cheer for Captain Hook the loudest…but he’d be EXTRA happy about it.)
