NEW Disney World Permit Could Mean CHANGES for a Hollywood Studios Restaurant

Major changes are coming to Disney World in 2024.

From the final EPCOT Transformation changes and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure to new restaurants and more, we’re looking forward to it all. But, more changes could be on the way and we’re taking a look at the latest hints as to what they might be!

We’re taking a look at the latest permits filed by Disney that could point to upcoming changes in the parks!

Hollywood Studios

There are so many places to stop for a bite to eat in Hollywood Studios, but an old standby, reliable favorite of ours is Backlot Express. This quick service spot serves up your typical theme park fare like burgers, hot dogs, and sandwiches along with salads and other options.

But, a new permit indicates that Backlot Express may be seeing a bit of a refresh soon. We found a Notice of Commencement for some electrical work that matches this location. For now, it doesn’t appear any closures are on the horizon — but we’ll let you know if that changes.

EPCOT

Over in EPCOT, construction might be on the menu for another favorite restaurant of ours. A permit was filed for work at Via Napoli in the Italy Pavilion!

The description just says “general construction” which could be a major project or something relatively simple. Either way, we’ll let you know if it might impact your trip!

Magic Kingdom

Last week, we reported that a permit had been filed for work over at Pirates of the Caribbean in Magic Kingdom.

That work appears to be continuing, as another permit was filed — this time for the Caribbean Plaza area in between Tortuga Tavern and the entrance to the iconic attraction.

Disney World Hotels

We spotted a couple of new general construction permits for the Disney World hotels! They don’t get very specific, but we’ll be keeping an eye out at the BoardWalk Inn…
