NEWS: Disney World Files Permits for Hotel CHANGES

When it comes to planning your Disney World vacation — one thing is extremely important…

Disney’s Wilderness Lodge

…you’ve got to decide just where you want to stay! There are over 30 Disney World hotels, ranging from Value to Moderate to Deluxe, so how do you know which one is right for you? If you’ve got an upcoming trip planned, you just might need to know about these hotel updates!

We’re taking a look at the latest permits filed by Disney that could point to upcoming changes in the parks!

Heads up if you’re planning on staying at the Grand Floridian Resort & Spa anytime soon — we spotted a couple of new permits filed for work to be done over here. This hotel has been undergoing refurbishment in select areas for some time, but a new permit has been filed for general construction.

We also noticed that a permit was filed for electrical work at Grand Flo, but we’ll keep an eye out for any changes that might impact your stay.

It looks like Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort will also be getting a bit more TLC (you know, other than the GIANT, new DVC tower they’re building over there). A permit was recently filed for electrical work in the main lobby building at the Poly.

We don’t anticipate any huge impact from this, but we’ll let you know if that changes.

EPCOT

The World Showcase is getting a bit of love lately, as we found a few different permits for general construction in some of the pavilions. We may soon see some changes in Norway

We’ll keep an eye out for anything that might change your park visit.

Animal Kingdom

A permit has been filed to “provide labor, material, and/or electrical for construction” over in the Kali River Rapids loading queue at Animal Kingdom.

We haven’t spotted any ride closures on the Disney World website for now, but we’ll let you know if that changes. Often, water rides will close during colder months for maintenance, so Disney could be planning to take care of this work then!

Magic Kingdom

And, last, but certainly not least — a permit has been filed for general construction at Pirates of the Caribbean! That’s about as specific as it gets, so this work would be anything from a new coat of paint and some minor updates to something a little more complicated. We’ll keep an eye out for changes.
