Right now is one of the best times to visit Disney World, as most people have wrapped up their summer vacations and are returning to work and school. That means the parks are looking pretty empty!

If you’re lucky enough to be visiting the Disney World parks soon, make sure you take a look at what’s going to be CLOSED before you board that plane or hop in your car. You don’t want to be caught unawares by some ride and show closures! Check out this list of what’s going to be unavailable in Disney World this week, from September 4th through the 10th.
Magic Kingdom Closures
Walt Disney World Railroad
Although the Walt Disney World Railroad is still closed, there are a few promising signs that it could reopen soon.

We’ve seen some train testing and Cast Member training at this attraction, and it has also disappeared from Disney World’s refurbishments calendar. However, it is still not showing any opening hours on Disney’s website, so it’s not quite ready to return yet.

Last we checked, the Railroad’s tracks were still missing over near the construction site for TRON: Lightcycle Run, so the train may not return until after construction there wraps up.
Tomorrowland Light & Power Co.
Another casualty of TRON construction is the Tomorrowland Light & Power Co. gift shop. Visitors to Space Mountain usually exit the ride through this gift shop, but they’re being redirected to a different exit for the time being.

The gift shop doesn’t have a reopening date yet, and it looked pretty empty the last time we saw it.
Enchanted Tales with Belle
Enchanted Tales with Belle is still closed in Fantasyland, and Disney hasn’t announced when it might reopen.

If you want to see the Beauty and the Beast story, you can watch the Beauty and the Beast — Live on Stage show in Disney’s Hollywood Studios instead.
Pete’s Silly Sideshow
At Pete’s Silly Sideshow, visitors used to be able to meet Daisy, Minnie, Donald, and Goofy dressed as circus characters.

Disney has said that this spot will reopen “in the coming months,” which they announced a few months ago. We’re expecting it to open any day now!
Meet Ariel at Her Grotto
This character meet-and-greet spot in Fantasyland is also closed, and Disney hasn’t announced an opening date yet.

But you can still ride the nearby Little Mermaid attraction, Under the Sea — Journey of the Little Mermaid.
Magic Kingdom’s PeopleMovier has CHANGED.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios Closures
Fantasmic!
Fantasmic! is still closed, but Disney has confirmed that it will reopen in 2022. We’re still watching for a specific reopening date, but we had some good news about this show recently.

Disney announced that Cast Member rehearsals have begun — that means we’re getting close to the reopening!
Voyage of the Little Mermaid
This Little Mermaid show is still closed in Hollywood Studios, and it doesn’t have a reopening date yet.

Disney’s silence on the topic of this show has us wondering if it will reopen at all — we’ll be sure to keep you updated with any news we hear.

EPCOT Closures
Canada Far & Wide in CircleVision 360
Although you can still enter the theater for Canada Far & Wide in CircleVision 360, you won’t find a movie about the wonders of Canada there. Instead, you’ll find one of the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival booths!

The Appleseed Orchard booth has an apple crumble tart and a few apple-flavored drinks. It also has the advantage of being one of the only indoor festival booths — a huge perk on hot Orlando days. We’re expecting the movie attraction to return once the festival ends on November 19th.
See the unexpected guests at the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival.
Disney Water Park Refurbishments
Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park
Disney’s Blizzard Beach is currently closed, but you can still visit Typhoon Lagoon — Disney World’s OTHER water park.

Disney hasn’t announced when Blizzard Beach will reopen, but we’ll be on the lookout for updates about the park.
Find out what’s going on with Blizzard Beach construction here.
Disney World has been feeling pretty empty lately, as many kids and teachers go back to school and other people hold off until their holiday vacations later this year. If you’re going to the parks soon, you may get to enjoy very short ride lines and much less crowded parks!

We still recommend taking advantage of Early Theme Park Entry if you’re staying at a Disney World hotel, and you can always rope drop to get to your favorite rides as soon as possible.
