Heads Up! Hollywood Studios Park Passes Are SOLD OUT for Annual Passholders on Two Days This Week

Believe it or not, some people still have to make Park Pass Reservations to visit Disney World parks, depending on the date and time.

Annual Passholders are the largest group still required to make park reservations, typically any time before 2 PM — except on Saturdays and Sundays at Magic Kingdom, when reservations are needed even after 2 PM. While we typically don’t see park reservations fill up often, they still can, especially on days when special events are happening — and that’s exactly the case for two upcoming dates.

Heads up, Disney World Annual Passholders! Park reservations for Hollywood Studios are sold out for May 21st and May 22nd. If you haven’t already secured your park reservations for these dates, you might be out of luck. There is a chance that more reservations could open up, or that others might cancel, so keep an eye on the calendar just in case!

If you’re wondering why park reservations are sold out on these dates, you’ve come to the right place. On May 21st, 22nd, and 23rd, Disney is holding Annual Passholder previews for the new Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets at Hollywood Studios. Most Annual Passholders are blocked out of the parks on May 23rd for Memorial Day Weekend, except for Incredi-Pass holders, which is likely why there are still reservations available on that date.

The passholder previews for Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets will be using a virtual queue. There will be three different virtual queue opportunities on each date of the preview window:

  • 7 AM Virtual Queue: Available for Passholders with a park reservation for Hollywood Studios.
  • 11 AM Virtual Queue: Available for Passholders with any park reservation. You just need to check in at the park you have a reservation for before heading over to Hollywood Studios.
  • 3 PM Virtual Queue: Available for any Passholder with a valid park admission; a park reservation is not required.

While Annual Passholders technically don’t need a park reservation to enter Hollywood Studios after 2 PM, there is always the chance that the park will be at capacity for passholders on May 21st and 22nd due to the high volume of people coming in for previews. Passholders should still be able to get in, but snagging a spot in the 3 PM virtual queue will be even more difficult.

SO SHINY!

If you didn’t already snag your park reservation for the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster previews, keep checking the calendar to see if any have popped up. Disney could always release more.

Otherwise, you’ll have to wait until after May 26th, when Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets officially opens!
