Don’t believe everything you read on the internet — especially when it comes to Disney World.
Rumors run wild, speculation flies, and every once in a while a satirical post goes viral. Whether it’s the latest trending topic on TikTok or a “hack” that isn’t really a hack at all, we’re sharing the times the internet LIED to you about Disney World!
XYZ Is Worth It/NOT Worth It
There are plenty of ridiculous rumors swirling on the internet about Disney World, but at the end of the day, any blanket statement you read about what’s best for your family might as well be a lie — simply because what works for one group isn’t always going to work for another!
We see so many statements about the new Lightning Lane system not being worth it or being worth it, but ultimately, you’ll have to make that decision for yourself. The same can be said for certain attractions and experiences as well. Heck, even dining at table-service restaurants might be wrong for some people.
The important thing to remember is that you have the trip that’s perfect for your group — not for anyone else!
You Don’t Need a Dining Reservation If You’re Staying at That Hotel
Former Cast Members on our team have heard this one firsthand. Unfortunately, some people tend to think that you don’t need a dining reservation for certain hotel restaurants if you’re a guest of that hotel. But, that’s simply not the case.
Whether you’re staying at that Disney World hotel or not, you’ll still need a reservation for any table-service restaurants there. The only exception is if there is availability on any potential walk-up waitlists that are open. We do see this from time to time, so keep that in mind as a potential option!
You Can Uber to the Contemporary and Walk to Magic Kingdom
We know that parking at the Transportation and Ticket Center to get to Magic Kingdom can be a hassle, but Disney has it set up that way for a reason! We’ve seen a “hack” going around online advising people to take a rideshare service to the Contemporary Resort and then walk over to Magic Kingdom.
Here’s the thing, though — this is a pretty terrible idea. Unless you have a dining reservation at one of the restaurants at the Contemporary, you won’t be able to get past parking security to actually get into the hotel. Disney has no problems allowing non-hotel guests to dine at their restaurants and more, they just want you to use their transportation to do it!
You Can’t Show Tattoos in the Parks
While Cast Members used to not be able to show tattoos, that has changed in recent years as long as they fit within certain guidelines. But, tattoos have never been banned from Disney World for visitors!
A satirical site, Mouse Trap News, recently shared a false story that Disney World would be banning tattoos, but that’s not true at all. Just another example of why you can never believe what you read online!
